The reviews I've seen surprising haven't discussed this. Doesn't it matter? For an action gaming where timing is everything I think it's worthy of consideration. I'm wondering if a Wii U Pro Controller (or the Classic equivalent) is practically required equipment.

Try the demo and see for yourself.

Personally, I don't have any problems with using the gamepad, but you might prefer the lighter pro controller for longer play sessions.

It probably just depends on how big your hands are. I don't like the pro controller as much as some of the users on this board do, and I'd say it's probably about the same either way for a game like this.

I just can't imagine playing on the gamepad after playing Bayonetta 1 with an xbox controller... I've buckled and ordered a Pro controller to be on the safe side.

I always choose the Pro Controller over the gamepad for any game. It's just much more comfortable to hold.
