Battle for Bikini Bottom [PS2] Freezing on Loading Screen

Hi,

A friend of mine recently purchased Battle for Bikini Bottom on the PS2, and well this is his problem.

"The game plays fine until I have to use the taxi. When I try and use it, it continues to load and never stops. (The taxi to Jellyfish Fields)"

He's only just purchased the game, so I figured I'd help him out a bit. I'm posting this on several other forums to get an overall idea of it.

Anyways, would anyone be able to help out with this problem?

Scratched disc

You need one of these badboys.

if it's a slim PS2 those are known to have crappy compatibility with games and they overheat. If it is one of the newest slims these are even worse. These don't even accept any peripherals unless they are 1st party (including memory card) and the disc drive's lens is so crappy it has issues reading discs with even some light scratches.

PS2 phat are the only ones worth buying. Taking the risk on buying a used one is a smarter choice than buying one of those shoddy slim ones.
