Any good free text based games out there?

I have been looking for a good text based fantasy or sci fi game to play, and I just can't seem to find anything. Any ideas?

I have this mobile game on my iPhone called 'A Dark Room'. It's a text based survival game which is pretty fun if your taking a crap etc.

there are a shitload of text-based adventures on good ole commodore-64 and atari-st

..sadly it is forbidden to talk about emulators and roms in here

I remember a text game creator a while back - could always give that a spin, adapt something to be a text adventure, see how it goes?

I don't think people really focus on them anymore since having no graphics pretty much assures no one buys your product - no return on the investment.
