I'm a huge fan of both the Zelda games available on N64, Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask, and I want to get one of the GameCube ones after I finish some of the games I've already played through.

Anyway, assuming I'll get both eventually, which should I get first? Wind Waker or Twilight Princess?

Should I wait until I can get a Wii someday down the road and get that version of Twilight Princess, or is the GameCube version just as good? I mean, the game was originally slated for a GameCube release, was it not?

Hm.  It's tough, Wind Waker is the better Zelda game, but you may want to play them Chronologically.  I don't know, just make sure you don't skip Wind Waker, its epic.

You can get a copy of Wind Waker on the cheap, so get that first. Down the road you'll be able to get Twilight Princess for a better price.

Get both for the Cube.  Twilight Princess looks just as good on the Cube, and the gameplay is significantly better because you won't have to use those silly Wiimotes (unless you like them, in which case more power to you).

Definitely get Wind Waker first. I found it to be an overall better experience than TP.

TP has a much better main quest than WW, but WW has alot more to do outside the main quest than TP.

This seems like the best bet. The games play identical, and there is no real difference in the two other than graphical style, as far as quality goes. If you are definitely going to play both, get WW now and TP later, just to save a few bucks. --Dave

Get Wind Waker first. By the time you're done with it, there may be a price drop on TP (for GCN, anyway).

You should most definitely get the Wind Waker first. I believe you should buy the games in order in which they are released, and also, the TP has been so greatly rated, save the best for last. But personally, I think both are fantastic, so whichever you choose, you can't go wrong. :P

I agree with ZLinkZ, wait for the price to drop and find a Player's Choice version of Wind Waker. You wont be dissapointed.

Legend of Zelda Wind Walker would be a safe bet to get since its cheaper than Twilight Princess. I would say to get both if you have the money to. I started with Wind Walker since it was cheaper and then got Twilight Princess.

Well, if I was in this situation, I would get Tp just becasue its tha latest one and definiltly th biggest one. It is a massive giant compared to Windwaker in terms of the Overworld, The dungeons and theside missions. WW is good if you are cheap. I think the best investment is definily TPthough, but both games are great, Tp is just massive and much bigger. especially the story.

Get Wind Waker on GC first. Then get Twilight Princess on the Wii. You'll spend enough time playing Wind Waker that you'll have time to save up for a Wii.

If your not planning on getting a Wii, then I would say get Twilight Princess first. It really has a "classic" Zelda feel to it and it will hook you nicely. Then once your ready dive in and get Wind Waker, as it has a very "new" feel to it as far as Zelda goes and it really is a lot of fun.

I think Wind Waker is better in so many ways but Twilight Princess is a great way to start your Zelda collection on the Cube. Wind Waker can be a bit frustrating at times I think which can take away some of its awesomeness.. :)

I would get WW first. It's a more complete GC game. Both are good, but WW is a better experience on the Cube and really shows off what it can do. TP is basically the same on both the Wii and the GC so there's no advantage to getting on the GC really unless you have no plans to get a Wii at a later date.

Old thread is old.

Well seeing as you probably already bought your game, I'll still add my 2 cents.

Windwaker is definately the first Zelda game to play on the gamecube. It is a nice change of pace from the regular type of Zelda games. It will take you a little while to complete it but it is worth it, and is more fun. It also has more sidequests than Twilight Princess.

Twilight Princess is a good game nonetheless. I just don't like the whole, 4 whole sidequests? And 3 of them are really long if I remember right.

Get WW first... even if you don't get a Wii, TP will be easier to find in a year or two if you intend to wait that long.

I say Twilight Princess because it has better graphics and gameplay, but I think that you should also get Wind Waker because is another great game and it's really fun to play it.
