nah I say retire it to the museum of game systems past like I'm gonna. I have all the old systems in a collection I will proudly display one day...jdmHonda4life
well i thought about that, but I also questioned myself if the action replay disk I have would only work on the cube or if it would work for wii....only till after I have the games I need hacked with it can I just leave it on a save and then transfer it to wiiÂ
i would keep it as a collectors items;)
and seriously how many do you get back for it, not much that's for certain so keep it close to you.
someday it will be very value to you.
i think gamestop and ebgames rip you off and give you like $30 for the system and at most $4 for a game unless its really good and rare, or just brand new.
If you are going to sell it, do so on EBay or Craigslist. However, keep in mind that you will not get the market value on the system (games, accessories, if you are selling those).
Personally, unless I was just stripped for cash, I would keep it. The price that you sell it at may not justify the sale. Retire it or just keep it around in the slim case something happens to your Wii and you have a SSBM itch.
over time, i don't think the cube will go up in value, i think it will actually decrease. if you sell it now you're more likely to get as much as you can before the value decreases. plus the wii can play all of the old games, so you really don't need it.
the same can't be said the for older machines like the NES, and SNES, because those game cartridges are not compatible with other systems, which is why i would say keep systems like those (especially since some of those SNES RPG's sell for $100s), but not the cube.
i'd also the same for the ps2 and xbox.  if you have a ps3 and a 360, you don't need the older systems because the games are compatible with the newer systems. maybe not 100% compatible, but that will be fixed someday.
get the most money out of your cube before it's too late, it's the smart thing to do. and try ebay, not gamestop.

They will try to rip you off. Don't do it. Just keep it as a backup or a "traveling" system. Mine still has a home right next to my Wii. I have a thing for wanting to play games on the original system they released on. I haven't downloaded anything on VC at all.
hmm, guess that's a personal decision. if it's just going to sit somehwere collecting dust, then why not sell it, or even better, donate it to someone less fortunate? but if you've got enough room to display it, then i don't see there being anything wrong with keeping it.
just remember tho, it's not the system that needs to be kept, it's the games. systems come and go and are easily obtainable at any time, but the games are what hold their worth. now that you've got the wii, give it a few months and see how often you go back to using the gamecube...you'll then probably figure out what you need to do.
Keep your GameCube, you aren't going to get very much for it. And you also have the option of playing Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, and e-Reader games on your GCÂ by using a Game Boy Player, an accessory that the Wii is not compatible with.
Even if you don't want the GBP, I still say keep your 'Cube as a collector's item or as a backup incase your Wii isn't working.
