Well, since it's unlikely that the Gamecube will be in Gamespot's Game of the Year 2007 awards, and seeing as how Gamespot is intending to take down the Xbox, Gamecube and Gameboy Advance pages soon, shall we make a prediction on which game would win if the Gamecube was actually included in this year's awards?

Games released in 2007:

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Ubisoft)

Meet the Robinsons (TH*Q)

Radio Allergy (O3 Entertainment)

Spyro: A Hero's Tail (VU Games)

Ratatouille (TH*Q)

Madden '08 (EA games)

Backyard Basketball 2007 (Atari)

Surf's Up (Ubisoft)

Backyard Baseball 2007 (Atari)

Since Madden '08 and Backyard Baseball are likely to be cancelled, I'll leave them off the poll. Since there seems to be little user interest in Backyard Basketball, I'll leave that off as well. Finally, since Surf's Up's release is a ways off, I'll strike that from the list as well, leaving 5 finalists.

Please comment on your choice.

My vote is with Radio Allergy. Even though TMNT is a decent Gamecube game, I think Radio Allergy will provide an excellent old school shooter experience. Of all these games, I think it's pretty much the only Gamecube game to justify purchasing in 2007.

I think that Radio Allergy is the only game that even deserves mentioning...

Since Madden '08 and Backyard Baseball are likely to be cancelled

Wrong. Backyard Baseball 2007 has just been released:

http://www.atari.com/us/platform/gamecube (Atari's GameCube page)

http://www.atari.com/us/games/by_baseball_2007/gamecube (GC version of Backyard Baseball 2007 store page)

http://www.backyardsports.com/backyardgames/baseball.php (BB2007 page on official BY site; bottom of page shows all the systems the game was released for)

Anyway, Radio Allergy gets my vote.

Is there even going to be a Gamecube Game Of The Year category? Those games aren't really worth the trouble.

If Madden '08 gets released, then that will win. It'll be the most well done on the list.

If it wern't likely that Madden '08 were to be cancelled, I have really liked the Madden Series, so I would vote for that. However, from what the poll includes, I would vote for Spyro: A Hero's Tail.

Radio Allergy is one of the many games that I wish would be available as DLC.  It seems fun, but the Gamecube technology severely limits the on-screen action to that of about 1/3 the screen.  If they had used Wii technology, then maybe the action could be spread out and faster paced.  Anyways, the GC has nothing of worth and deserves to not be mentioned at GS's award show (other than probably the funny "Best Console Death").

It's definitely coming to GC.

Radio Allergy is the only one I'd even consider. The other games probably shouldn't even be released. If Madden 08' is released though I would vote for that.

I'd have to go with TMNT (even though I got the PS2 version). I don't understand why so many people bash it for not being like Devil May Cry, or something, and doing off the wall attacks, juggle combos and other crazy moves.

Plain and simple, it's a beat 'em up that's very much like the original Arcade greats that Konami had a hand in producing.. prior to their crappy trilogy on last generation's systems.

The old Turtle games, namely Turtles in Time, was both fun and simple.. you button mashed here and there, jumped a bit and took out bad guy after bad guy until you reached an end o' the stage boss and you did so 7-10 times in a row for each level.

When you do so in a TMNT game that appears on the PS2/GC/Xbox it's like.. automatically terrible; I just don't get it. I thought it was above and beyond what Konami did to (not with) the Turtles recently and, though not beyond it, about on par with what Konami USED to do with the TMNT games.

At its core, TMNT is a very fun, simple and traditional beat 'em up that actually has a lot of unlockable content, extra challenges and replay value.

Hey cousin, I'm going to agree with you on that one, as much as I liked TMNT I think Radio Allergy takes the win, funny thing is I have never even played it, but from what I have seen of the game looks like alot of fun.

Hey Tyler! Not often I see you in these forums. lol Yeah, I haven't played TMNT yet, but I did get a chance to play Radio Allergy over here in Japan on the Dreamcast. Believe it or not, they're still releasing new games for that system over here. Only 1 or 2 a year...but still, that's pretty good for a system that launched in 1999. Anyway, my point was, Radio Allergy is quite the charming little game. It's pretty simple, but the presentation has a Alien Homminid sort of charm to it. If you get a chance to play it, you may like it. But I imagine the only way to play this game will be to order it online. I don't think retailers carry Gamecube titles anymore, do they? They don't here in Japan...
