Hi guys, I thought I'd ask here for help on this matter as nintendo was no help (75$ for repairs, and when I sent a e-mail to them, they just pointed me to the trouble shooting section which I allready read)

Here is my issue:

L and R buttons are not responsive, the L button needs to be pushed hard for anything to happen, and the R button won't repond at all (yet both still make clicking sounds when pressed). Before I go to extremes like opening the thing, I'm asking if anyone else has had this problem, and any solutions? (no rush, still have wario twisted  )

I did have the problem, but my solution involved cracking it open and tweaking the button springs/cleaning the system.

Mine did that. It was kind of broken so I lent it to my friend along with wario twisted. When he brings it back, both soulder buttons work perfectly. I don't know what he did. He probably dropped it.

The problem with that is you wouldn't be able to play GBC/GB games anymore.

I had that same problem with my SP, but I took it apart and cleaned the shoulder buttons of any foreign material. I also checked to see if they were deformed in any way; that could affect performance.

how you take it apart? my micro has a funny triangle shaped screw. Also, I can't bring it back as warinty is over, and nintendo wants 76$ to repare it (new gameboy micro = 50$).

If you are going to open the Gameboy up, I strongly recommend getting those air spraying cans. Those were designed especially for cleaning electronics.
