I ran out of film before I finished the loose games or got to the system boxes. Later I will post better pics of the loose games, some pics of boxed systems and some other interesting things.

Awesome man, I wouldn't have expected that you could have gotten all of those games into such a small amount of space. I had figured there'd just be games everywhere in multiple rooms.

As a dial-up connection user, I attempted to keep the photos small and low-res. It's a lot more impactful to see the grouped pictures rather than hotlinks, but you are probably more web-savvy than I am. In the future though, please extend me the courtesy of a private message before you edit one of my posts.

Will do, though it's not a matter of being more "web savy", i just though it was courtesy. Impactful or not, when somone clicks and gets loaded up with lag because of a large groups of pictuers, the only thing that will keep that person interested in staying around is if that groupof pictures is porn, at least 90% of the time. BUt i will let you know before i edit any of your posts.

I think that what I've posted is all that I will be doing for now in this regard. Scanning my pictures again is not something I intend to do, since I'm a pretty inexperienced photographer, most of them are out of focus anyway. The pictures are certainly good enough for discussion and for people to follow suit, provided visitors to this thread are willing to go the extra mile and open them...

You have to understand, I've probably only taken 5-to-10 rolls worth of photos in my life and the last time was years ago. I've said it before, I'm just not a picture person. $ for the film, $ for 1-hr developing, an evening spent photographing, scanning, hosting and posting...a digital would make this sort of thing easier. Here's what I propose: I say that we (or me, whatever) start and sticky a dedicated picture thread much like the GGD forumite gaming setup picture thread. That way we can make it dedicated to pictures of collections that are resident in the posts, not hotlinks. We can post 56k warnings in the title of the thread, that way no one will be inadvertently lagged out of their minds. I like the idea of the "Room of Doom" thing on the CCU front page, but the format of the board is a little handier overall in that we can quote previous posts and do some editing. That way, much like ArchieGates has done in the General Games Discussion board, we can make a digest of the photos in the front pages of the thread and leave comments were they belong in the later pages. I think that the management of the picture thread should be left to one or a handful of CCU forumites, that way we don't have anarchy. We can establish standards for picture file sizes and for the number of pictures per user. I will do it unless there are objections or if someone else wants to. I think that if either Waflerevolution and Propyro want to, they would also be good choices. Do either of you want the job?

For now, if there are no other suggestions, I think that (per ArchieGates) a maximum of 600 X 800 pixels is a good benchmark. And let's go with our 3 best pics per poster for now. Maybe we can raise either the pixel count or the picture count later, but let's wait and see. Do we want to keep the subject matter as software and systems only? I would really prefer not to see everyone's collections of DVDs, VHS tapes, or coins for that matter in this particular thread and stay on target with game-related imagery, since this is GameSpot not CoinSpot. I am going to go and set up the stickied thread right now. For further picture submission, let's do it there.

Did you actually have coins shown? Oh sorry, man, I just pulled that out of the air as a possible collectible because I thought no one would actually have pics of them. I was going to say ceramic cats, but I thought that was a little too out there. I guess it's obvious now that I haven't viewed all of your pictures. Since my oh-so-slow dial-up connection takes about 3-5 minutes per .jpg, I have only looked at a handful of your new ones. As for cropping the pictures, usually the software that allows you to manage a digital album on your computer will have some tools for that , and there are Windows utilities that will work also. I don't what they are offhand, since they launch automatically when my scanner captures an image.

I actually know very little about cameras themselves, I've just had some experience editing graphics produced by other means, and only cropping them, really.

BIt torrent can fix all your problems. FInd a good bit torrent site and download a copy of Photoshop, or paint shop and you'll be able to make high quality edits and crop your pictures perfectly with out even having to do anythign with your camera. BUt really, Photo Shop is your best bet for image editing, you can cleanly resize pictures and do all kinds of fun stuff editing them.
