htere used to be a double arrow. The lessthan/greater than sign made a button in the old message screen. this allowed us to change the screen from white to black.
from there, i could input extensions for smileys etc such as this: 
now, where can i find this double arrow. I would show you exactly what it looks like but the the less than/ greater than signs delete text in messages :|
The double arrow indicated a switch from the editor to complete html. There should be an html (it says "edit html source" when you hover over it) button that will open a small window, which is the equivalent of the black screen.htere used to be a double arrow.
