Lately, I've been experiencing this weird problem with the site. Many smaller images, like arrows for menus, buttons etc. don't appear. I get those weird symbols instead.

Is it only me, or is it the site problem?

I've had this problem for a few days too and it's really annoying. I assume it's due to a character encoding issue, but I can't figure out how to fix it.

I'm using the latest version of Firefox.

On IE11, the icons are just not visible. Less annoying, but instead of feeling broken, the site just feels like it's missing things.

I don't get how the website deteriorated that much since they "updated" it

See here and here for other discussion/reports on this issue. Basically though there is no such issue in chrome; but in firefox placeholder character code symbols appear instead of the intended icons; and in IE nothing displays at all because IE hides the placeholder symbols. It seems that for some reason the entire icon set seems to be unable to/fail to load/display in certain browsers.

It seems the issue has been fixed, I no longer see the weird symbols on Firefox. The regular icons are back. :)

@AdamPA1006: Wow, I guess it was too good to be true. I'm seeing the symbols again too. Did they do something and then change it back? Because everything was working perfectly fine when I posted that message.

@Tiwill44: Just to confirm, you're seeing these in Firefox correct?

Ditto, "funny" symbols/icons are still visible on Firefox v29.0.1 ... however one can generally scroll over to read what function the symbol might refer to.

Same here. Originally, I thought it was an incompatible font issue, because I'm a graphic designer and have a ton of fonts installed, but if they're symbols/images, then that's unlikely. I too use Firefox.

Will bookmark this page for updates.

@stoxos:

Atlest there video play works with out stuttering like Mofo like gametrailers. Though I am curious to why the layout of this is simlar to point of giantbomb yet there site dont have issue with it thinking white is layout is selected when black is really selected.

Any like I mention in another thread its only the MAIN page that dont honor the black layout if clink any like to go anywhere else on the site black layout is honored

FF 29.0.1 here too

I think the weird symbols are fixed for real now. I'm totally seeing the icons. Hopefully it stays this way.

I believe this issue is now resolved. I'm locking the thread now. If this comes up again please just create a new topic.
