Player Review Recommendation Thread - NEW! user video emblem

We plan to release an emblem for those of you who produce user videos that review a game. Keep a look out for it! I would like to see any recommendatins you have regarding written and video reviews for this thread.

The player review emblems are hand picked by the Community Team to avoid any emblem exploits. If you have a recommendation on a great player review writer or user video reviewer; please use this thread to alert us. The criteria on how you receive a player review emblem or user video reviewer emblem is a mystery. However, I am sure our Targeted Moderators could give you some general player review advice on what you can improve on if you ask them nicely.

Questions & Answers!

Q. Do I need to be recommended to receive an emblems?
A. It's possible to get the emblem without being recommended. This thread is just for suggestions.

Q. Can I recommend myself?
A. Of course! Recommending yourself is a good place to start. If you do end up recommending yourself, start thinking about others who also have a good writing style and/or quality. Note: Please only post people who have 6 or more reviews.

Q. Many people have recommended me! I deserve an emblem.
A. Recommending someone does not mean that they will receive an emblem. The community team is the one that makes a decision on who should receive an emblem.

Q. Why haven't I received an emblem?
A. We will not be sharing the criteria on how to receive a review emblem. However, do some investigation! Check to see who has the emblem and then read their writing style and/or quality to your own.

Q. What is the difference between the two emblems?
A. This emblem is a mystery. However, the Top 100 are more prolific, and maybe the Top 500 haven't written enough reviews.

Q. I want an emblem, give me an emblem, check out my emblem!
A. When you post your recommendations do not pester and private message staff or contact the moderators to check out a player review. This thread is the appropriate place to post your suggestions. Thanks for your cooperation in this matter.

Recommendation guidelines
Please be very clear about who you are recommending. Now that we have a video reviewer emblem on the way, it is best to mention that you want us to check their user videos and not their reviews. Please link to the user's contributions page for written reviews and link to their video reviews if you are recommending them as a user video.

I'm glad to see that video reviewers are now getting consideration for an emblem!

So here are some of my picks for video reviewers who I give the seal of approval for this emblem:

Kenshin836 - He produced a review show called MUGS (Mega Ultimate Gaming Show) for the GameSpot community a while back, and his own reviews that he made were very well put together.

Darrogamer06 - Makes video reviews at my level, 'nuff said.

Slunks - Very good at ad-libbing his commentary; he already has the 500 emblem.

mjcarrington - Also very good at voicing his opinion in a well thought-out manner.

bewarethehorns - Another reviewer that has my respect.

I'd like to reccomend my good friend Dev_Ron. His reviews are complete well written with the necessary details needed to get a good overview of the game. He writes very good reviews and I'm not alone to think so I believe! He has to be one of the best reviewers around on GameSpot in my opinion.

I'd also like to reccomend my own self, especially with my upcoming review. My first reviews were plain boring and over the years on GameSpot I've grown to write much more complete reviews today and pay attention to how it was written. Without wanting to be arrogant, I think I deserve a reccommendation for my reviews.

Almost forgot, I second the recommendation of GabuEx.albedos_shadow

I'd have thought Gabu would have a review emblem by now. Put another vote down for GabuEx.

People I Recommend for Writing Reviews:

5_LD_5 - LD's writing sty.le is very straight-forward and informative. Her/His/It's reviews are short and to the point, and that's the way most people like 'em.

GabuEx - Seriously, why doesn't this guy have the emblem yet? He has an excellent way with words and his reviews are very long and informative. If he doesn't at least get the Top 500 emblem, your standards are way too high.

Homes225 - An odd choice, I know, but I really like Homes' reviews. Since he constantly gets games, he's churning out reviews all of the time. And even though his reviews are short lists about the aspects of the games, they're still very good. Remember, length doesn't accord to how good reviews are. I'd rather read one of Homes' list reviews then some long, drawn-out novel anyday.

People I Recommend for Recording Reviews:

jediskilz173 - This guy is just amazing with a camera. His video reviews are almost up to tack with GameSpot's. If anyone deserves this emblem more than anybody, it's him.

Korubi - Korubi made wonderful video reviews a long time ago, but it looks like he left GameSpot. Even though, to honor him one last time, he deserves this emblem.

Well that about wraps up my list of people who I think deserve which emblem. I'd also like to recommend myself for both emblems. I already have the Top 500 reviewer emblem for writing quality reviews, but I've improved a whole lot since I was first awarded it and I still write reviews on a regular basis. I think it might be time for a promotion.

As of late, I've also started creating video reviews to go along with my written ones. My last video review was featured on GameSpot, and two of my reviews have about/over 2,500 views. All of my video reviews are also highly recommended.

Oh, i must have misread the first post. Well then, i do reccomend myself and mjcowley.

I recommend Shufu7-11 He is making some awesome reviews with some good adjectives and they are a good lengh.

I also recommend myself, I only make reviews about my own feeling about the game. I am not like those guys who give a game a bad score because GS did. I only post my own feeling about the games.
