Number of posts shown per page on forums

Anyone know how to change the number of posts shown on a forum thread? Seems my mega pc can't even scroll down when people start posting tones of gifs... but only on this website. Can that option be changed anywhere?

As far as I know there is no option to change it.
Do you happen to be using Chrome? Because several users are reporting slow-downs while browsing the site in Chrome.
