I have just thought about a brand new enhancement idea, and I know there are a lot of free Gamespot members out there, but I came up with an idea that they could get permission from a moderator or a Gamespot staff to do "community service" for Gamespot, like cleaning out forums, and searching for things that people say that they shouldn't, and other stuff like that, and the mod/staff gives a special key or something, and the person doing "community service" posts the links where he/she cleaned out the forums, and the moderator or GS staff bumps his/her account to Gamespot TotalAccess or Plus for a temporary time. The more things the person cleans out, the longer time they have to use Gamespot TotalAccess or Plus. Credit card will still be required for downloading games, though. You can also use this idea for banned users, exept the mod or staff bumps them back to thier original account (Free, Plus, or TotalAccess), and if that person does something that makes them become banned again, they cannot repeat this proccess.

PS: I voted once for "The whole thing!"

I'd hardly say that deleting different threads is worth $40. Community service (if anything) should be just that, service. You want to do something for Gamespot and they authorize it, than good for you. But if you're getting a paid membership out of it then you might as well be a Gamespot employee.

Uh, I don't like any of it...That would just cause people to report lots of nonsense to try to get this. Not only that, banned users are banned for a reason. We don't want them back.

right, i mean....why would we want someone who was banned for doing something wrong and going against the TOS back? so they could do it again? i dont think so.

Neither do i. From what i observe, when people get themselves banned, they have either done something really bad or they keep making the same mistakes over and over. It just wouldn't be a good idea for these people to be welcomed back atall for obvious reasons.

This would bring no good. We don't need users to go through all these reports, nor do they deserve a Plus or Total Access membership unless they pay, or are a moderator.

This is basically by the sounds of it what a moderator does (when you get down to it). They get certain powers and than clean up where they see fit.

It would be abused way to easily.
