list of "union boards" on gamespot

until there is a board made only for advertising "union boards," this will be a repository for links to the surviving unions. so as you can guess by this thread, unions are indeed back. though they do have some bugs.

bugs:

unions don't show up in search

cant edit first post in a topic

feedback:

no power to change sticky topics.

having to click "or select a more specific board" every time we want to create a new topic in "union boards" due to them not being on the main list

so I urge you to go back into your posting history and see if any of your previous unions survived. when you find one, post the name and a link to the board here, and if you can post what kind of a union it is, that would also be great. this is the only way we will have any kind of activity on these board. lets try and help each other out.

I will update this post with any news about the bugs being fixed, or how/if we can advertise our "union boards" outside of this thread. I will also include any new boards that get added with their name and a link to the page where they are located.

I also ask that a mod or staff member please pin this post so that other users can see it more easily.

This is cool :) Thanks for helping us, actually I don't use Unions but I saw many of my friends leaving because of all those problems, that's why I'm still here, to keep in contact with my remaining friends and to let them know how Gamespot is doing, which I'm going to do right away :)

The Decision Based Gaming Union - a union for discussing strategy and management games (eg. XCOM, Civ, Sim City, Football Manager etc.)

There are quite a few bugs with these forums - threads that fail to load with 500 errors - some threads can be accessed only via page numbers as the main title link breaks. Unions don't show up in the search - tis but a barren wasteland. There are no powers to change stickied topics - so things that were relevant just prior to the unions being axed are not so relevant any more.

Now to get the word out and try to contact old members, and see if those who are now using other sites as alternatives are willing to come back...

@Avenger1324: thanks for the info on the additional bugs. I haven't ran into those yet, so in case that I end up not running into them at all, keep me posted on whether or not they get fixed.

The Council of Unions was a support union whose purpose was to provide assistance to other union leaders and provide certain features, like Union Interviews (we asked leaders questions about their unions and posted their insight). Staff used the council to host the union awards in 2011, but nothing came about it and it was abandoned.

With that concept of unions being effectively gone, I mainly asked for it to be converted so the work we put into it over the years wouldn't be lost.

By the way leon2365, what did you say in that stickied thread on the Council of Unions board? I am getting a server error when I try to view it.

@siberian142: thanks for the better description. updated the first post with it. as for the post I made, it was simply a test to see if posting in unions was possible at all considering it currently shows an error message every time I try to post.

Be patient. You guys found Unions before they're officially released. The official announcement with a list is coming when they are ready.

EDIT: the emblems union either didn't make the cut, or it isn't up yet. all posts I had made there were deleted.

I updated the first post with a new bug I just found. turns out you cant edit the first post in a new topic. hopefully it gets fixed soon.

You might want to coordinate with a mod or a few to help out with this. I know some don't mind, but it might get bothersome if you use the 'PM All Mods' link every time you need a thread updated

though the new sticky doesn't have as much info as this one had. for instance, no mention of another "union board" that is still here as well, and no mention of the bugs that currently plague the unions. or feedback either.

im hoping to. as I am told of more bugs, and as they are fixed, I plan on updating the first post. the next thing I am currently going to do is add all the other boards that digital dame mentioned.

and BTW, @Avenger1324. have they fixed those bugs you ran into yet? I still haven't ran into them, or if they are fixed, I never ran into them myself.
