The Java script is as follows:

static2.gamespot.com/js/compiled/goty-2014.js

I believe that this one was made for this year's award fest, right?

Anyway, I am experiencing slow-downs on at least Mozilla Firefox. The chugging stopped when I blocked the script.

P.S. I have made this second topic because my first one didn't show up. If both show up later and gives the impression that I am double-posting, really, do know that I am not. I had tried to delete the first one, but nothing worked. If you are irked by the double-post, blame GlitchSpot.

I'm experiencing slowness with Google Chrome, even on the forums. When I use IE 11, it runs smoothly.

@remiks00:

Really? Internet Explorer 11 runs it smoothly?

Last I recall, according to Lark Anderson (or perhaps one of his colleagues), the development of the site switched over to focusing around Firefox. I also recall that there were major problems for IE users.

You're talking about this page, right? It's running smoothly for me and I'm on Firefox, so the issue is probably not related to the browser itself.

@harry_james_pot:

Good for you then. I will admit that I don't know exactly what's wrong, but for me, it stopped when I blocked that script.

Maybe you have something that automatically blocks problematic scripts.

The script dealt with the particles that were floating around on the page, i've removed them. The page should be running smoothly now.
