Hi all,

I just wanted to say, that I really find the discussions on Gamespot to be really quite enjoyable. They are much more free of trolls unlike, lets say IGN or Kotaku. I was wondering, how does one become a Mod? I would love to help contribute and keep this community safe and calm from pointless console wars and flaming. Thank you in advance.

a) become good brahs with mods/think like they do at all times

b) be a lemming or especially a hermit

c) successfully avoid random oddball bullet-hell moderations.

So, I've messaged DigitalDame few days ago, and I have not heard back from her? Is there anyone else who can help me, or help me get in touch with the proper people?

Just follow the rules and be active is all I can say. There really is no direct way to apply for modship. Mostly being noticed by others as a positive influence across the forums will put you in the position to become one. Sending a pm to get the information you need is a good idea though in any case. Synthia (DigitalDame) our community manager is very busy so she might not have the time to expand on your question.

Although I'll tell you that you won't immediately become a moderator if you send a community manager a pm unless you have a special circumstance of some sort. Its quite difficult to just hand someone modship if they have not been active on the site. It doesn't mean you don't have the qualities but it is important for the community managers to see how you contribute to the site.

I'm more active on the article discussions then here in the boards. I will continue to try and be as helpful as I can.

Activity on articles count as well. We have some cases like that in the group.

I'll go ahead and lock this thread though since I think you can take this up with the community managers, is that alright?

Yeah that's fine. One last thing... Is there a list or do you have any specific community managers in mind? Thanks in advance for all of your help.
