Not to be anal but EA published the PC versions and Demiurge Studios developed Pinnacle Station for both the 360 and PC. BioWare had no part in developing it.

I don't call that anal. That is being thorough. I missed that as I just duped the 360 PIDs. Should be corredted now:)

Actually, it turns out we already have that game as 196576. Three Lions is just one of the titles the game has. It can't be found with GameSpot's search, but it does show up in the results of a GameFAQs search.

Doesn't quite work that way. Especially for something that's essentially an unlicensed fangame. A totally badass one, but still an unlicensed fangame nonetheless.

that may be so, that it is unlicensed, but this site does say rate every game EVER.

i guess though, it would be unresonable to add every unlicensended and ghomebrew.

but i dont see why we dont put up the popular ones, since there is adventure quest, and runescape, and other MMOs on here.

and IWTBG woulg get a million ti9mes more hits then those games for IP, whatever that system is.

yeah, i knew he was right, i was just wondering if theres a reason as to why we cant have really popular homebrew games on the site.

i understand it would be impossible to add all of them- but the VERY popular ones i personally think should start to be added.

Some freeware/doujin soft games have gamespaces, but it's a rare occurrence. Plus, IWBTG uses resources from numerous other games without permission from the developers/publishers of those games, which eliminates any chance it had of getting a gamespace. There doesn't seem to be a rule that explicitly states that (at least none that I've found), but that non-rule does seem to be in effect based on what I've seen. In fact, I've yet to see a site that even acknowledges such games in their official rules. It's clear that MobyGames' rules allow games of this nature, but only because all the rules are clearly laid out and it's never stated that these games aren't allowed. As far as I can tell though, they're the only major video game database to allow games of this nature do be documented on their site. Because really, they accept almost anything. GameSpot doesn't, and most other sites are similar in that regard.

This seems to be a free game which would fall under this: Because of the high number of free games on the Web, GameSpot restricts Web/Online-Only games to those that offer pay-to-play options. While we may decide to expand our coverage to include ALL games eventually, GameSpot's main focus is retail-released and digitally distributed games. GameSpot reserves the discretionary right to not create a game space for any reason.

I would love to see some coverage of Blurst.com Games. Or more accurately Flashbang studios games. They used to just be a free web based site (only) and the games were free so i could understand gamespot not covering them. But recently theyve started selling expanded versions in downloadable packages. I thought it would be great if gamespot finally did some coverage on those games. I hope this is right to place to bring this up... last time i tried mentioning blurst games on these forums i got a warning for advertising... Very Lame.

i was suggesting covering all blurst games in general but i supose this would be more useful, as this is the best deal on the site.

Hi Dracula68,

I come to this tread to give you a little suggestion and support.

Ok you already have available for track list and for wish list, the game Call of Duty Classic (link above) for PS3, but i cant add this game to my collection list, and also i can't add him in my playing list, it's also impossible to rate this game.

Please if you can update this type of information, because this game is already available in PlayStation Store, i will appreciate.

Thanks

That's because there is no release date. If you can find a link with prooof of a release I can fix that gamespace. I checked a few sites and all say TBA 2009.

I was gonna say I could have sworn this was supposed to be a PSN/XLA game download. I am trying to think of a way to add another type of release. I guess it could technically be "retail" cause it comes as a pack in but then again you can't buy it separate. Oh what fun this is!

Can Uncharted: Drakes Fortune and Uncharted 2: Among Thieves be put in the same universe and have have Gran Turismo 5 added to the GT universe.

And just to add to the Call of Duty C info, it was released on the PSN store last Tuesday in Europe. Link: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/cod-****c-added-to-ps3-store (replace the **** with the last word to fix the link)

kkee

Alright all box shots uploaded except Mass Effect 2. We already have a UK box with a rating on it and to go to one with no rating wouldn't make much sense.

Fixed Universes.

Alright, so CODC released ONLY on PSN and not XLA in the UK right? I added the release for PS3 only for now.

Yeah we already went over that up above in this thread a bit but unless it is available via XLA I can't add it cause technically it isn't retail and it isn't digital release.

That's because there is no release date. If you can find a link with prooof of a release I can fix that gamespace. I checked a few sites and all say TBA 2009.

Hi Dracula68,

In my country when we talk we other people we say in the first place Hello or Hi, because respect is a important thing and i thread you with respect but you dont..

Second i dont need to proof you nothing, because this is your job not mine...

I check the Call of Duty Classic today for XBOX360 and PS3 and i already read the post before this one, it seems you dont solve the problem...

PS: My game come with Prestige Edition for PS3, i made a single mistake saying this game is already available in PlayStation Network, oh well, this things happen to anyone...

Cheers

Um, that's where you are wrong. It is NOT my job. I volunteer to help out here so please leave all the accusations at the door. And yes, you NEED to prove a release for4 me to add it to the database otherwise anybody may as well have access to add any release date they want. I can't solve the problem if XLA and PSN don't release the game. I can't add it as retail because nobody can go to a store and buy it alone as a disk. Do you understand my problem now?

Even if it was his job, that doesn't excuse you from providing sources. On GameFAQs, handling data submissions is Allen's job. But he doesn't automatically approve every submission either. In fact the guidelines when submitting data include this point:

  • For new games, you must include an official source link for your information, such as a link to the developer or publisher's web site or a press release. For older titles, a link to other information archives is acceptable.

Although not the same site, GameSpot and GameFAQs do share the same database, and it's a good rule regardless. If you want something changed, provide a source. Whether or not it's his job to handle these requests, it's not his job to do the research for the people making the requests. If it's his job (like Allen on GameFAQs) he's got huge amounts of requests to go through and doesn't have the time to manually research each submission. If it's not his job (like Lee in this topic) he's got other work to do that is not this and doesn't have time to manually research each submission. In both cases they simply don't have the time to research every little thing. As a user making a one-time request it makes significantly more sense for you (or me, or anyone else in this same situation) to do a quick search, find the necessary information, and present it along with a link for verification.

Although you may think it would be better if he just gave everyone the benefit of the doubt, that doesn't always work out because there are people who love nothing more than spreading misinformation.

The Call of Duty Classic situation is similar to that of Guitar Hero: Van Halen. The game is being made available to some people prior to its official release. Although it is certainly possible for some people to play it now, it is not yet been offically released as a standalone game.

Hello, not sure if this is the right area for this post but its just some information regarding this game; Space Cowboy: http://au.gamespot.com/pc/rpg/spacecowboy/index.html Being an on-line game, I hadnt played it in awhile and after doing a bit of searching found that the servers are shut down. May want to add this bit of detail to the game page so people realise that its no longer available. info here; http://www.sco-fans.com/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ace_Online thanks

I've posted about this before, but it seems that user-submitted box shot scans submitted through GameFAQs are occasionally replacing high-resolution scans that have already been added by GameSpot staff.

I've been aware of this issue for some time though, and have saved some of the original high-resolution scans just incase they get replaced by poorer quality ones through GameFAQs.

I'm not sure if this is something that can be fixed as it seems that the image system on both sites is connected. It is kind of annoying though because GameFAQs users often upload poor quality washed-out box shots that replaced official publisher-released box shots already on the site.

Anyway, here's some better quality images for two games:

Batman: Arkham Asylum PS3

Dragon Ball: Raging Blast Xbox 360

In the case of Arkham Asylum, the current box art reflects the retail box art, whereas the one you have saved is pre-release promotional box art. The box art for Raging Blast does appear to be identical though. Images aren't normally replaced unless the new image is of better quality than the existing one, so I'm not sure how that one got approved.

For comparison:

Dragon Ball: Raging Blast

This sounds like something that needs to be turned into a suggestion for enhancement - find a way to hang on to official all-digital (i.e., superior) box art, pre-release, promotional, or otherwise. No matter how valiant their effort, a scanner or digital camera attempting to capture an image from a physically printed separated halftone are simply never going to be a match for an all-digital original. If the all-digital originals are slipping away as it is, it's kind of a shame.

I can't find the Arcade game Tank Force? It was made by Namco in 1991 and released in the US and Japan.

Yeah, I agree. GameFAQs must have an "override" for box shots. Not sure how hard it would be to implement a way to keep the best shot.Anyway, gonna go fix that DBRB box shot now.

It means GameFAQs is more likely to have a game listed than GameSpot. So if you see it in their search but not this one then you just give me a link or the last 6 digits of the GF url and I can make the game live here so you can see it.

Call of Duty 2 currently has the Collector's Edition set as the default game release for the game space for some reason. (Game name and box shot)

Should be switched to the standard retail one:
