just wanted to know if maybe there was a general time frame or date on when the "union boards" are getting implemented, if at all.
This topic is locked from further discussion.
Doesn't seem like any answer can be or should be expected. Perhaps they hope people will forget with time (so they don't have to return them at all). Wouldn't put it past them.
I haven't heard anything about it since the change. If they ever do show up, they'll probably be located in some out of the way place like before, as GS really doesn't seem too fond of Unions.

Yeah, it was mentioned that they would only be found by a search.
Anyway, I've been wondering when they would bring the unions over here too.
I've added this to the roster for this weeks Bug Report / Feedback list, I'll see if I can get an answer for you guys.
Just got back from talking with Lark about this. According to him the push should have gone live yesterday which means that it is now scheduled to go up some time this week, provided nothing major explodes.

Will we have to search for it by entering words in the search bar?

Nice. Thanks for getting back to us on this.
@leon2365: who says GameSpot fixed most of the issues? There's a much bigger problem...SPAM!
With low security measures,I have a strong feeling that no Union became a safer place like it was before the change. Back then all you need is a pass from either come to the union yourself or recommended by your friends. With these changes, now all we have to do is to secure that place at all cost
The single biggest union killer was inactivity - certainly not helped by the current 3-4 week absence of the boards since this site wiped them out.
I wonder if we will have any ability to communicate the existence of the unions with members once they come back, or if unions are so far down the priority list whether we can expect any more than just a forum page.

I came here to say exactly this. My union's activity was decreasing as it was. Now that Gamespot are taking their sweet time setting up those union boards, I'm assuming most of the people from my union have lost interest and moved on.
I'm less worried about 'growing inactive' and more worried about losing archived discussions. Picking up where we left off is not a problem.
Tank: >should
Yes, that is the operating term, isn't it? Promises, promises. GS has proven so good at keeping their word.
Blab: >what exploded
What hasn't? It would take less time to denote these things. Apologists defending even this garbage. Terrible.

Trying to hear it from the horse's mouth though

And of all these specialized 'interest forums', what of them? I remember Lark talked about, on numerous fireside chats, about adding unique forums along w/ the union ones--like for Anime or wrestling (just naming the basic ones he said)--and they would be implemented as well. Are those still on schedule too? Because frankly I must admit it's a bit boring looking at the same dozen or so forums, lol.
Leon: >a plan
Tends to help.
>double post
Not an uncommon occurrence with GS.
>new posts
All of which, for me, are at the Feedback board. Telling.
Blab: Understandable.
Tank: >keep hoping
I'm more for expecting the worst, bracing for impact, etc. Though doing that and still 'hoping' isn't an uncommon (or ill-advised) approach.
at least there are new posts in these same old threads. conversation comes and goes.
No, that's true and all, lol; but I do feel that if there were a fuller arrangements of forums, there'd be more people and more discussions of many other things.
well it is hard to tailor to everyone's individual preferences. for example, im fine with the current topics to post in while I wait out the implementation of "union boards." it would be pretty sweet if you could customize what forums you see. that way you would always have a list of topics that you know interest you.
^Of course. So long as TUGOWU returns (intact), I really don't care all that much about the other details. I'm used to this buggy mess of a site and its nonsense.
well then they aren't quite ready to go yet. if they were, they could be released and be done with. unless you are planning to release a mass of updates in which case its dependent on the other bugs being ready. and when the consoles launch, they will get lost under the process of trying to review every screw and rubber washer inside of the consoles, and then people will start to complain once more about why the bugs haven't been fixed yet. my suggestion? release what you have so far. that is, if its a mass of updates. if not, then I don't mind waiting for the union boards. at least we have a date for the implementation. more or less.
