*NOTE: THIS MIGHT NOT BE TRUE!*
I heard somewhere that they're making a God of War movie and they're casting the black guy from Blood Diamond to be Kratos (AWESOMENESS! I think he will make a wonderfully brutal Kratos)

Why a black guy ? Kratos is supposed to be whiter than most white people :?
So what does everyone here do, when they are'nt glued to the T.V. playing games 24 hrs? I like to play football (my other love next to videogames!!!!LOL), like playing MLB (people think I'm a hard hitter, cuz I'm caused several injuries, 10 to be exact) and sometimes play QB, but I aint that great, go DENVER, feel that D TOWN D-FENSE.

I know, but it would be cool though.BTW I found the info in Wikipedia (which tends to lie a lot) so you guys can read about it if you like.

Yeah, Wikipedia does tend to stretch the truth when it comes to Rumors in the gaming community and movies. Yeah, it would be alright (Not as great as 300 though), but I would prefer to see a movie such as MGS or Gear of War, now those would be good.
There is a Gears of War movie coming out (it has been announced, this is not a rumor) but I'm not really hyped for it because the game was fun but the story was not one of it's strong points.
I think MGS would be an awesome movie (series).
I disagree with you there, I think that they should make game-movies and movie-games. I just think they shouldn't half@$$ them like they usually do. Silent Hill was a good movie. King Kong was a good game.
BTW ignore the "link" on this post because every time I post that word it does that.
But what about the rest ? They all failed. Its not the producers fault, its because movies are different than video games.
Let's take MGS for example. When you think about it, all you do is pretty much running and sneaking around to reach your objective. Now, would that be half as fun if you were watching a movie ? No, that would be boring. So, they make it more action-oriented. Results ? Doesnt feel like MGS at all...Another failed video game movie...
Same thing for movies. The characters sometimes have so much interactions to do, its really hard to put everything in a game. Usually, good games have only one mode. Like for example, in FF, all you do is run around and fight monsters. Pretty boring when you think about it, but the developers somehow manage to make it really fun. In the case of movie games, such as The Matrix, you have to fight, shoot, chase, drive, snipe, etc... it is hard to put much effort into every mode, because the movie is coming out soon and all...results ? The game feels rushed, looks totally ugly, has bad controls, fighting system is totally crap (You are either overpowered or friggin weak)...

I agree strongly with you there, they should make games and movies vice versa, but very well said, they should try and do a good job at it, dont make a great movie and make a crappy game, just cuz you think it'll sell. My best example (which many people might now agree being a great movie) is that the movie "300" was a very well orchastrated movie and you think that it would be a good movie to transtion (not to mention pretty easy) into a game, but it really really was bad, especiall that they had made it for the PSP (I think it was), what a way to make a great movie look real bad. Do a good job in the transition, thats all I gotta say.

The best example of how to make a movie-game is King Kong. That one was pretty good. and there have been other licensed (not just movies) games that are good.[QUOTE="llcoolray"][QUOTE="Homedawggydog"]I disagree with you there, I think that they should make game-movies and movie-games. Me, except for "Star wars battlefront 1&2" they go kinda in entire different direction from the OG's, but I thought they were really good games.
I don't really like Star Wars or Lord of the Rings.Homedawggydog
