In this game, you'll play as Ayame and Rin; two female ninjas who get off on the wrong foot. Ayame enters a burning village in hopes that someone is still alive inside. While investigating, Rin finds her and blames Ayame for the whole mess. Ayame escapes, and Rin sets off on a quest to find and kill Ayame.
Gameplay is on the sluggish side. Since the game mostly focuses on stealth killing, that's the best thing to do; However, if you get stuck in a combat situation, you'll be plagued by predictable enemy patterns and a crappy fighting system. Both stealth killing and hand to hand combat isn't made any easier by the inresponsive camera. Enemies aren't all tha bright either. They're still just as stupid, if not stupider, and predictable. Stealth kills can be a pain to get in at times with the game's crappy level design. There are hardly any good places to hide behind or above, and most of the time you'll be wandering in tight, dull, corridors.
Sound is awful. Nothing has improved. The voice acting is moderately good, but dialogue, at times, is way off. Sound effects don't hardly make sense either. The swords, stabing, dying, walking, and water sounds all suck or don't even sound right for what they are assigned to.
Fatal Shadows fails to live up to its predicessor and offers much less than what you would expect from a Tenchu game. With it's lack of improvment, and overall effort, this isn't worth picking up at all.
