It can be an enjoyable game if you want a challenge when it comes to an action hack and slash fighting game

Ubisoft are well known for developing games like Assassin's Creed, Prince of Persia and Splinter Cell; for their first attempt on developing an action hack and slash fighting game For Honor can be an enjoyable game. For Honor setting is based on historical forms where you can play the roles of solders and warriors from Knights, Vikings and Samurai, but the idea is a clever idea to see in a video game especially from Ubisoft plus a chance of peace from their other franchises.

The main story is kind of short when it comes to single-player campaign which is in three chapters where a warlord named Apollyon believes the people of the Knights, Vikings, and Samurai have grown weak and wants to create an age of all-out war through manipulation of each faction, think of more of the line of the world belongs to the strongest and not to the weak. The story maybe a little confusing for some but in a way kind of feels like it could have been a little better as a TV series instead of a video game if you think about it. The first chapter is based on Knights, the second chapter is based on Vikings and the third chapter is based on Samurai.

Gameplay mechanics really well using the right analog stick to guard from enemy attacks by moving either up, left or right from their attacks but you'll notice when they will attack you when you see a red indicator on the screen telling you to watch out. You can attack your enemies as well by pressing the R1 for light attacks and the R2 button for heavy attacks, you can pull of moves and attacks to do more critical damage including breaking through their defence or shield but the less stamina you have the higher chance enemies will attack you that quickly but you can dodge them if you are lucky. Each hero you play as will have their own set of skills and abilities but you can also customise your own gear from weapons to armour.

As I've already said that the main campaign is short but there's a lot to offer when it comes to multiplayer with modes including Brawl where it's two versus two where you must eliminate the other team, Duel which is one versus one where you must kill the other opponent to win, Skirmish where you can gain points while killing enemies in a four-versus-four one team earns enough points, they must eliminate the players from the other team and win the match. There's also Domination and Elimination as well but if you've played these modes in other games when it comes multiplayer this may feel a little familiar to you.

The graphics and visuals look impressive for a historical setting game with rich visuals when it comes to textures from the castle grounds to the Viking villages to the fortresses in the middle of a battle. The map layouts for both the campaign and multiplayer are big to explore giving you the chance to explore and try find any collectables that are scatted in each of the levels in the campaign including certain statures, machinery or fortresses will give you a little description about it so it's like you are learning a little something out of the game. Voice acting is a mixed but still impressive on trying to keep both the gameplay and story fresh when it comes to For Honor.

For Honor still has a lot to offer when it comes to online multiplayer which Ubisoft did say that they'll have more future updates for it on the Faction War, the gameplay mechanics can be very rewarding when it comes to combat and levelling your skills just requires a little patience but can be a little more challenging on a higher difficulty setting where you'll get most of the experience out of the game if aren't that bothered on multiplayer.
