Flicky was initially an arcade game made by Sega; and this is a port for the Mega Drive / Genesis.

Okay, as an arcade game, this review wont take long. You take control of a blue bird, Flicky, and run around rooms trying to save chicks. Run into them and they'll start following you, you can get a long chain of chicks to follow you and you have to lead them to the exit door. I don't know how many rounds there are, but there are three sections to a world (bar the first world which has two)

But it's not as simple as grab and move. Out to get you are cats and lizards. One hit from these, and you loose a life. They can also break up your chick chain so you will have to collect them again. Your only way of attack is to pick up items in the area such as plat pots or apples. When you jump, Flicky will release the item forward which will kill those cats. However, they do respawn after a bit.

After you complete all the stages in a round you will be taken to the bonus stage where chicks are catapulted on screen and you have to try and catch as many as you can with your net.

The music for the game uses tracks which repeat very quickly and as a result the soundtrack is repetitive to listen to. But the tracks are quite cute and happy sounding.

Flicky is quite addictive and fun to play. The game is unlockable on the Sonic Mega Collection games, so that way you don't have to spend money on a quick arcade game which you probably wont play very often. The game is definitly cute and is surprisingly addictive. Very charming!
