“Flashback” was a very fun puzzle-solving game for the Sega Genesis. The objective was to move the character through a side-scrolling, wonderfully rendered, future landscape in order to help him regain his memory.

Primarily puzzle-solving with a bit of shoot ‘em up thrown in for good measure, “Flashback” had a great storyline, and fairly impressive graphics for its time. Though there was a distinct lack of music throughout the game, brief snippets would play at key moments to add to the excitement, but for the most part all that was heard in the game were sound effects (albeit cool sound effects).

The only downfall in the game was the lack of replay value; after the game was completed, I really had little desire to go back and replay any of the levels, which was too bad, because the gameplay was incredible.
