Not to be confused with their regular Dynasty Warriors series, which is no way a mediocre hack 'n' slash franchise that has done nothing innovative or even interesting for almost a decade. ive been a life long fan of the series, and personally i dont think there has been a single decent FOTNS game yet. Which is very disspointing. Hopefully this should be pretty enjoyable. Sure, its just a dynasty warriors make over. But atleast they kept it looking pretty close to the anime. I cant wait to get it.
i love it, catering to fanboys everywhere. wouldnt it be nice if they actually tried to "reinvent the wheel" of action games with a franchise like this? i know this wont be the particular game to do it, but maybe in the future...

Can't be Koei can release so many games using just one formula. They literally used the same engine and game mechanism to make 10 games.

I hope this is more like ninja gaiden with the movesets rather than dynasty warriors. KOEI always have potential to make awesome fighting games, but the potential just dies to a mediocre hack n slash.

This game looks to be one of those "awful" Japanese game Inafune was talking about. I really wanted this to be good, but looks like I should be prepared to be let down.
@TrueProphecy22 chill buddy, they're not gonna show the game on the hardest difficulty cos then what would be the fun on watching the player getting owned? its a preview meaning they want to show you the game-play and moves in the game.

I played Black Belt for the SMS, and Last Battle for the Genesis and had no clue until recently that they were actually FOTNS games. The American Black Belt had a complete makeover from the Japanese Hokuto no Ken and Last Battle Made no reference to Hokuto no Ken at all.

Interesting, except the enemies look like mindless zombies you just mow through without worry, challenge, or skill. Actually, worse than zombies.. I think I saw two dozen enemies just standing or hopping up and down for no reason.

Awesome!!! as a fan of the anime/manga series i actually want to play this game. although since it's coming from Koei it'll play just like that Dynasty Warriors game with thousands of enemies coming at gamers. but i'll still buy it cause i love gore and being able to cause bodies to explode just buy punching or kicking them.

It's been a while since I've played a Fist of the Northstar videogame. The last one I played was made for the 8-bit nintendo. The look reminds me of Castlevania but the gameplay is closer to the newer Ninja Gaiden that was originally released on xbox which is good.

If it's the same as the Japanese version, you can play as Raoh, Toki, Jagi, Rei, Shin, Mamiya, and Thouther as well, with Mr.Heart and some unnamed extra as DLC.
Will there be other playable characters besides Kenshiro? :shock:
