We check out Fire Pro Wrestling (with avatars!) on the Pax East 2011 show floor.
At first I was thinking: "Well this looks alright so far" Then I saw the gameplay... then I puked blood. HORRID. I can't believe they screwed up the best wrestling series ever created.
Feel bad for the guy that has to show this off. He probably realizes it's garbage but has to talk it up anyway. When the most common word out of his mouth is "oops," you know this is going to be a stinker. The game being talked about in the background sounds more interesting, and I can only pick out random phrases. Love the lack of contact on that annoying little slow takedown move. Guy's hands are nowhere near being on his opponent. This ain't Fire Pro. Please change the name. When this bombs I don't want to have people saying "SEE? No one cares about Fire Pro!"
So Awful. RPG elements? Earning new picture frames? Bragging about customizable features that's been in Wrestling games for ten years? Why ruin a good game series with terrible animations? Tickle tackle? Man. That hurt.
This looks worse than I thought it would. It's nothing like the fire pro I know and am still obsessed with. While predictable, still doesn't make this incredibly disappointing. Turning on Fire Pro R right now to wash this filth from my mind.
Not exaggerating when I say this will probably be the most disappointing game of all time, for me personally. I wish this wasn't called Fire Pro since it obviously has very little in common with the real thing. Terrible.
avatars aside (which is a no-buy factor) the GAMEPLAY SUCKS look how bad the animations and actual wrestling is
Not happy, why avatars? This game could be huge without them, I wanted this to be actual fire pro, and feel this game BETRAYS folks loyalty to the title. I liked how the grapple system was explained tho, I can only hope for an expansion that features more wrestler like templates for characters, and removes the comedic aspect. Where are the gimmick matches? Blood? Weapons?
