The first GCN Fire Emblem game is all a strategy-RPG game should be.

User Rating: 9.4 | Fire Emblem: Souen no Kiseki GC
The first (and last) GCN Fire Emblem game is all a strategy-RPG game should be. It uses similar controls to its US FE predecessors with the GameCube's exceptional graphics to create a FE game like none before it. Overall, an exceptional game, even for the Fire Emblem series. It follows Ike, his father Greil, and their group of mercenaries who stumble upon the secret heir of the throne of Crimea, Princess Elincia.

Why did I rate as I did? I'll take it piece by piece:

GAMEPLAY: 9/10 Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance has easy-to-master controls, especially if you've played the GBA FE games. It provides fluid gameplay that is enjoyable even when you are frustrated by the results of your last 23 attempts at the Final Chapter. If there are glitches, they are uncommon and not noticable.

GRAPHICS: 10/10 FE was fun on GBA, on GCN, it's amazing. Each ally character's battle sprite is completely unique, from hair to boots. The maps are detailed and react to characters' movement. Cutscenes are fluid and colourful. Thanks to the graphics, FE: PoR feels like being in a different universe from the GBA FE games, but in a good way.

SOUND: 10/10 FE carries its infamous knack for great game soundtracks to the GCN with an orchestral score to rival a movie's score. The SFX, too, are natural-sounding and not distracting.

VALUE: 8/10 As far as expense, when it came out, it was on the high end of prices, but well worth it.

REVIEWER'S TILT: 10/10 Let's be honest here: I'm biased. FE games (unless they're really bad) will always get a 9 or 10 from me. My excuse this time is an excellent story line and successfully continuing FE's great legacy.

I hope you've found my review helpful and decide to at least consider buying Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance!
