Hello I recently bought fire emblem and I am new to the series. Freaking loving it! It reminds me of my school days playing final fantasy tactics obsessively! So far its my fave 3DS game ever. I am currently on chapter 4 on hard/classic mode. I have a few questions please for experts: 1) any general tips for a noob? I think I have the basics down but so far I team up what I consider to be good teams, keep people clustered as a large group to boost stats and always lead with Frederick. 2) should I just let people die and continue? I'm wary of perms death - I've read that people just reset when losing one companion so I've followed suite and hard reset with one death. Is this considered cheap? 3) can you restock items? Or do u have to let them run out and then use a new set? Might not be describing that correctly sorry! 4) any tips on where/when to grind or have I not reached that yet? 5) I've heard you can produce offspring in this game? Where/when can I do this? 6) should I download the available free weapons I can get through the wireless box or just save them for tougher chapters? They seem valuable... 7) should I download any dlc to help me level up? I've read it's a good idea but I don't wanna pay for it if I don't have to? 8) Can someone tell me what the weapon stats mean if possible? If I have anymore questions ill ask and thank you in advance!
New to this forum, I'll try to be helpfull as soon as possible. I've been playing fire emblem since I was 6 years old, so I do know my stuff. Here goes: 1) any general tips for a noob? Train all characters equally, at least 10 or so. Most missions require about that number of characters, and also the streetpass team needs 10. Find your favorites, if you prefer a new character over an old one, replace and train. The bond you have with the characters is one of the best things about fire emblem. Also, the second seal is something you'll find early in the game. This resets a character to level 1. Only use this on characters you have used the master seal (upgrades their class) on. You might end up with lowleveld characters at a moment in the game where you cant miss the attackpower. 2) should I just let people die and continue? Soem would say yes, some would say no. I'd say no. I play with the characters I enjoy playing with, and won't settle for less. 3) can you restock items? Or do u have to let them run out and then use a new set? Might not be describing that correctly sorry! You buy items in shops after they brea, and you gain enough from falen enemies. It'll sort itself out. 4) any tips on where/when to grind or have I not reached that yet? You don't really have to. The Risen that appear in the game can be nice for a little step upwards, but i found that in general the side quests and the main quest suffice for leveling. As long as you balance out the EXP right between your characters.. 5) I've heard you can produce offspring in this game? Where/when can I do this? When you partner up two characters, their relationship increases. After fighting a number of battles together, they can level up their relationship in the support menu. As far as i now, most of the main characters get offspring. Usually in the story they are lined to their father, and I thin (not confirmed) that all characters except Chrom's offspring will have the same class as their mother. 6) free weapons? Some of the weapons are especially valuable, but I bilieve that most of them pop up throught the game.Use them om bosses or strong enemies, just whenever they seem usefull. 7) should I download any dlc to help me level up? I've read it's a good idea but I don't wanna pay for it if I don't have to? Haven't bought the DLC yet. I believe these missions are quite hard, and meant for higher levels, I'd say enjoy the game and if you want more at the end, download some extra maps. Personally I find them very expensive. 8) Can someone tell me what the weapon stats mean if possible? If I have anymore questions ill ask and thank you in advance! mt = damage, crit = crit, hit = accuracy. That's the weapons i think? another usefull tools is being able to press nearly anything on the touchscreen for it to be explained. The character abilities, stats, weapon disccriptions. Even on enemies. Good luc my fellow tactician. Not sure if there is anything against this in the forum rules, but is there any restriction on posting friendcodes on gamespot? Because I'd be happy to.
