i was half expecting a challenge, after hearing all the talk on the boards about this being hard. admittedly, i was actually a little scared that it might be too hard, so i set the difficulty to hard / classic. i was originally going to go for lunatic right off the bat, but thought i'd have a little mercy on myself for the first playthrough. but wow... all i can say is wow.
do they realize how broken the dual attack and partner system is?

what makes it worse is the speed at which you build supports. i had chrom and sumia get married right on chapter 5. seems pretty ridiculous. and for the record, i played the DLC chapter a few times to get some better weapons, but maybe i shouldnt have because i got a brave axe and a master seal a little too early.

So supports build pretty quickly? I haven't heard much on how fast they can be built.

Yup, dlc will do that to you. Know how to use, and not abuse it if you want a challenge, there's a reason it's extra content.

so basically DLC is the equivalent of arena grinding in this game.
except, its WAY easier to do, a lot safer, and you support faster and get broken items.

Most games have exploits. You can choose not to use them, or you can whine about them on the internet.

I personally am having trouble keeping everyone alive of those that I like to use(this is on hard). The main problem with hard is that some situations require you to plow through with your head honchos (for me that would be Stahl Chrom MU Fred and kinda sumia because of her support with chrom) and thus depriving other characters of exp. Like I kinda wanna use Gaius, but hes so damn weak. I also like Lon Qu, but since the AI hits him regularly with only a 30ish % chance, I have had quite a few restarts
But that said,... I just discovered DLC grinding, which Ill do a bit of.

What did you expect TC? Hard is pretty challenging if you set basic limits on yourself (no Sorcerers, no grinding), but if you're going to replay DLC maps over and over, your units are going to be overleveled.

You're pretty much saying that you'd complain that a game is too easy even though you played with God Mode turned on. I'm sure the game automatically turned it on for you and all that too.

The game can be trivialized with Sorcerers in a way other tough games in the series (notably Thracia 776) can't. Now, if you're going to restrict yourself in certain basic ways (no DLC grinding, no purchasable Nosferatus),
then this is probably the hardest in the series. But I'm not sure looking at a game with restrictions is an adequate representation of game quality.

Do you stack scrolls in Thracia? Do you make use of Warp to skip maps?

Like Sacred Stones, it's easy to get lots of experience through grinding, and supports. That automatically makes it one of the easiest FEs.
