With the seemingly not so polished look and feel, this game still had me enthused from the begining to the end.

User Rating: 8 | Final Fight Tough SNES
To start off, I'd like to mention that I had never seen or owned any other Final Fight games, so the score is based on what I thought of this game only, not comparing it to the rest of the series.

Final Fight III can be an extremely fun game for many reasons. First off, the game's levels are set up just like the classic Double Dragon, Battle Toads or Ninja Turtles franchises. Some people won't like the linear feel these types of games have, but it works fine if all you want to do is beat the crap out of everything that comes your way. Which has some repetitiveness to it after awhile, but the boss encounters and different types of enemies you'll face will rebound that feeling just enough to keep you pleased with the game.

The levels aren't so bad though, there's a handful of interesting instances that change up the pace for the moment, like the part where you reach a train and as it starts to move, you'll then jump on and end up fighting baddies on the train's roof top. It may seem like a very hard game, but that's how these side scrolling fighters are, you're supposed to keep playing them through to get better each time. It's not like the game is extremely long, but considering how many times you'll play it just to get through the game, it'll keep you entertained for a modest amount of time.

The sound and the graphics in general aren't anything special at all I'd have to say. The sound is overall repetitive, but it never gets in the way since you're mostly focused on combat from start to finish. The animations also are mostly carried out with one or two framed animations, but the effects are efficient enough to provide an action oriented experience that's not so bland. But if you're looking to be wowed over with dazzling effects that push the SNES, look away and start walking before you try this one.

In the end Capcom's often forgotten game is actually quite fun, despite its presentation and repetitive game-play. It's really the challenge, boss battles, and fighting that keeps this game fun for old-school gamers looking for a piece of classic gaming history.
