Making sure that the Final Fantasy classics stay cool enough even for newer fans!

This here baby makes sure that even the oldest of the series gets to be enjoyed by the newer Final Fantasy fans. No more being put off by old graphics. Accept it FF veterans, those newer to video games don't see classic graphics as nostalgic and or charming.

Yes, I hang my head in shame admitting that I can't survive playing the legendary first original Final Fantasy, and the ones that have not been remade.

But I was so taken by this one here. Eye candy, the very best 2D has to offer people! Yoshitaka Amano's whimsical art (monsters) galore, beautiful backgrounds in bright colours, and if my ears do not deceive me, re-mastered Nobuo Uematsu's distinctive music...? (Other reviewers please correct me if I'm wrong.)

As the first of the series, it can't be more "Final Fantasy-y" than this. Save the princess, save the four elemental crystals of the world. Players who have only played FF after VII will find status ailments, items, monsters and weapons familiar. One will be able to see how Final Fantasy has evolved over the years, starting here with the much missed, turn-by-turn battle system.

This game might even be recommended for people who don't know Final Fantasy or have not played old games at all. It is that charming. It is a game to relax with, not something that is a challenge, or as we say in my homeland, "play until you want to throw the game" thing.

Bottom line; a worthy addition to a gamer's collection. It's vintage improved to stand the test of time without it becoming something else altogether. Something to savour, and play again and again.
