How joyful! My first review and my first time playing Final Fantasy. Of course I have heard all the good rep this series of games has and I had final fantasy tactics for Playstation 1. So I decided to pick this game up when I had the chance and fell in love with it.

Pros: Nice background music, new dungeons added, character customization,

Cons: Too many random encounters can be annoying, Boss Battles weren't that hard, could have had a journal of what you had previous done

The world becomes chaos and your team of four people have to go and get 4 crystals;return the world back to its previous form. You get to pick four team mates, any one of these classes: Warrior, Thief, Monk, Red Mage, White Mage, and Black Mage.

Anyway, lets move on with this review. The story seems a little cliche to me, but in it's own way is original. Saving the world from darkness? Seems like I have heard that in many other Rpg type games. But the crystal part, that's a new one for me.

Graphics: Ah, the Cartoon stylish graphics that I love. Well, I'm playing the game right now and I just had a monster fight. As I look at the grass, it seems real to me! The little cartoon styled people and monsters just don't fit in with the scenery. I even like how when your standing on a desert patch, and get a monster fight, it shows the desert and how detailed it is. The only thing I found a problem with is the people could have used a little work and when your running around, looking at brown mountains isn't really that fun.

Speaking of running around, I have gotten lost a couple of times. Also, when I didn't play the game for a couple of days, I had forgotten what I last did. This became a pain because I had to find out what places I had last went and all the stuff. It would have been easier if there was a journal with the last thing you did. Like, when I went to Hellfire Chasm and I got to one of those maps that looks like the outside, with all the mountains and rivers and you have to find one of those hole in the ground things. I got lost and thought it was a glitch until I posted on the forums and someone told me. Well, while I was lost, the random encounters frustrated me and made me play the game a little less. Also, when there were 6+ enemies instead of killing them with all my people, I would have my black mage cast Thundara or a spell that hit all the monsters to kill them all. That's how annoyed I was, and still am, oh and yeah, there is a variety of monsters that you can fight. I did gain a couple of levels, and I did gain alot of money..to the max but it didn't help me. Speaking of money, after buying all of the spells and maxing in potions, I couldn't figure out what to do with all that money? Ahh.. I better get moving.

Boss Battles: I read some Walk through and they said that some of the battles would be hard and you would die a couple of times.. Well they were wrong. On most of the boss battles I faced, I didn't die and killed them in between 1-8 turns. This might have been due to the fact that I was lvl 47? This left me wanting a bigger and harder boss battle, and hopefully I'll get one since I didn't finish the game. I was amazed by the details of the bosses. I remember when I faced Kary, it took me a minute before I attacked her because I was looking at all the swords and such.

If your a fan of rpgs, this game will suit you. I'm going to try to pick up the second one and play it and review it. A great game which is a must buy.
