The first Final Fantasy (FF) game produced was definately the best RPG available for the NES system. Innovative, immaginary and a complete masterpiece of gaming. Right awau you have choices to make in which characters to play with. There are 4 different once to choose and you can make any combo you wish. Characters: The red haired hero, who is the weapon weilder and fghter of the group. The white wizard who is support magic and healing. The black wizard with attack magic and elemental spells. The Thief/Ninja who is probably the strongest fighter late into the game and he doesnt even need a weapon. Youe can select one of each or 4 of the same character, whichever you choose make sure you can battle your way to fight the Evil Garland who is terrifying the world. Now you have your party of characters, time to save the world. The battle sequences are random with creature strength based on where you are in the world. Turn based style (ahhh the good old days) where the screen shows the enemies on the left and your 4 characters on the right. Based on the characters you choose, fight or use magic to defeat your enemies to level up and get stronger. As you progress through the game you have to fight the 4 main elemental Bosses and many others. An immense colorful environment and intense storyline make for hours of gameplay. You can even upgrade your characters to a higher Status.. ex Mage to Wizard or Thief to Ninja, which make you stronger and be able to use better weapons and magic. Finally you can be strong enough to defeat Garland and restore peace to the world. As a bonus there is a super strong secret enemy that appears on a bridge on one of the levels (now we know why they have secret Weapons in future games, Ruby, Emerald) His name is WARMECH and I dont remember the percentage but its very small of him appearing and hes harder to beat than most bosses in the game. Any FF fan or plain RPG fan must try to pick this game up and give it a try, definately worth the time and effort. Plus you get to see the Origins of the FF empire.
