Xue and a party attempt to eliminate enemies near Camp Skull Valley.
sh***** game, the guy couldn't even see what the enemy was doing and come on, centuries to kill a bee? gameplay too weak for me
This coming from the same reviewer that convinced me to buy Eternal Sonata... As I'm reading some of your comments, I notice that Kevin states "no factual errors in the review"... Are we kidding? Or are we just not using the full potential of our brains? REVIEWS are OPINIONATED and in no way represent 'factual' data. The simple fact (about myself) is this: after watching numerous 'reviews' for final fantasy XIV, I have concluded that although the voice acting is cheesy, those who belittle the game, in all actuality, are not 'hip' to it's lingo. The avid fanbase of this game should enjoy it, because they recognize it's features. IT IS NOT WARCRAFT!!! Final Fantasy XI was not a game about 'quests'. & the 'restrictions' are part of why those who enjoy it do so (in spades). So, if you will, please go back to playing Eternal Sonata and Gears of War. You're beginning to think too much, and they don't like that. It hurts their profit margin.
@Ehllfhire -- I played close to 60 hours of Final Fantasy XIV. There are no factual errors in the review, and I did not misrepresent any facet of this game or its quality. Nor, for that matter, did the huge majority of critics that made very similar points and reached very similar conclusions. Did you send similar messages to the critics at GameTrailers, 1UP, IGN, GameSpy, and PC Gamer? Did they also misrepresent the game, and do they also lack journalistic integrity? Or did you single me out for some reason?
Our reader average at GameSpot is at 4.4; the Metacritic reader average is 3.9; the IGN reader average is 5.1; and the critical average according to GameRankings is 4.9. Do those thousands of people lack integrity? Did they all not play the game? Or maybe, just maybe, could it be that most people don't think FFXIV is very good?
Most people, as they mature, discover that people across the world think differently, and might have different opinions about games, movies, books, and music--and far more important things, such as relationships, politics, money, and future plans. When people have different opinions, you learn in time that you can sometimes respect them, or even admire them, and that it is possible to hear or read someone else's thoughts without resorting to rudeness in return. Sometimes, those people might be your loved ones and your friends. I hope that one day you may reach that stage.

10 years ago this could have been good, it's a real shame for the brand.
LOL! Not going to lie, it is super ironic that this game get's a bad score. I mean, they worked on this game while Final Fantasy 13 was still in devlopment, what else do they expect, and I also find it funny that the only thing saving this game from super fail is the music and the graphics, but that doesn't hide the fact the 11 is a better MMO then 14 is, and that is just sad considering 11 wasn't very good either xD. Square, this is why WE DON'T NEED A FINAL FANTASY MMO!!! Stick the stuff everyone wants, like maybe FINALY GETTING FINAL FANTASY VERSUS 13 and KINGDOM HEARTS 3 out instead of just putting out crap Final Fantasy games that don't deserve a number This game is a joke and the biggest flop in gaming since Sonic 06... and this one is even bigger then that one xD
wow, it took like 12 guys 5 minutes to kill that thing. This game = fail
LOL and it's making it's way to ps3 LOL harder
Kevin wasn't kidding when he said those are some really dingy critters. I would be severely embarrassed if I still have to cull such creatures several levels into the game.
Dodo!!
Bummer, I was looking forward to this.
wooooooow lowest score i seen for a MMO..the review was right on point.
generic blindfolded character that can see. yay!
doesnt look as good as the other final fantasies....
