So I wasn't the only one who thought the ps3 version looked unplayable... They should have made this ps4 but maybe that's the final fantasy they said was going to be at e3...

Why the hell doesn't main entry single player FF games look like this??

Why the hell put resources into developing what looks to be an unplayable console version on a PS3 that's soon to be "last gen"? I swear some of the shot callers on top are morons who just so happened to get dealt a royal flush. Anyways I hope this is a good game on PC.

@XxHYDROZILLAxX There's a certain point where graphic upgrades just aren't important anymore. We've hit that point.

Omg...I hope this comes out for PS4, cuz the frames for PS3 were just horrendous.

@zowbaid I was thinking the same thing. This is just a prime example on why this needs to just skip the PS3 and head straight for the PS4. I will play on PC anyways but I would love to play this with all my PSN pals.

Already square Enix has started to laying off its people. I dont think they will give it as a free to play game.

Such a pity they messed up the original release of this game, by the time it comes to market Elder Scrolls will be imminent and it's hard to imagine a 2013 MMO competing with that heritage and labour.  I never played any of these and, if it's free-to-play, I'd give this a go.

@johnwck90 I completely agree. If this game would have release 3 years ago for the PS3, we would have had something BIG to sell the system. We would have had something awesome to play everyday (not that there wasn't other games). Then SE could have spent all this time completing Versus XIII. Between those two games (that would have been big system sellers) things would have been a lot different for both PS3 and SE. But like you say, now XIV will be coming out WAY LATE, and to a jaded audience, in the midst of some really fantastic MMO alternatives. Shame. Cause I remember playing FFXI and loving it for years. This game "looks" fantastic, like I could really enjoy being lost in it.....just hope it turns out that way in the end, despite everything.

@JJames3dCG @johnwck90 I played beta twice and it was very dated.  I played it on my i7 gt555m laptop and it ran badly for me, doesn't look like the screen shots.  the whole interface is too dated.  I play a few MMOs and I don't see how this can carve a niche.  If Square Enix are relying on the success of this, they will fold.  It makes you realise how important it is to release a functional product because of the development of the technology, if you can't establish a player-base early then how are you going to compete?  What is worse in the MMO market is that most people who play them, even if they have time to play, can't play more than one at a time so the market can't support so many.  With GW 2 now free to play as well as star wars (which is poor), it's a hard market to carve a niche in.  Once Elder Scrolls releases, I assume that most PC MMO players will be giving that a go (I will) and maybe that will go the way of star wars, since only WoW seems able to sustain players because people have invested so much time there and seem unwilling to give up on the fruits of their labour provided Blizzard continue to produce content.  I can't see that this game can make much of a entree to the market but what do I know?

@johnwck90 @JJames3dCG   No I think you make a lot of good points, and I agree. It's certainly going to be an uphill  battle for them with this one (not that it hasn't been already!) But with the success that they had with FFXI, and the following that the Final Fantasy name carries (or at least used too anyway) you can't count them out. It's just the cards are stacked against them. Here's hoping they: Utilize the fanbase the FF name carries, Clean up the final version so it's not laggy/frame rate issues/textures, and recapture what made FFXI so enthralling. Judging from your comments as an experienced MMO player/being in the beta....it's not looking good for FFXIV to be a success. As for going up against stiff (MMO) competition, everything out currently is, meh, in my opinion. I played GW2 to 80 and enjoyed it, but it doesn't keep me coming back everyday. Neither Rift nor SWTOR held my attention at all. And if Elder Scrolls Online stumbles as most of the others have, FF  might still be able to do well. BUT, that's a lot of situational perfection that FFXIV will be counting ALL going their way to be successful....not a bet I'd wanna be gaming on as SE.

I am very excited to start playing this game later this year. Version 1.0 I hated and only leveled one of my classes to level 22. The game was so boring and no content. I loved playing Final Fantasy 11 and other MMOs. Looks like this has a little bit of all of the good game play from several games.

WOW!! With 2 kids under 2, I don't have much time, but I'm gonna have to find some time to play this game. I played XI for almost 7 years (Isobel on Titan server), and then I played about 8 months of XIV. I'm very impressed with what SE has done to make things up since the ultimate disaster of the original XIV.

They have to make their money off all the idiots who purchase the ps3 version first, before releasing a ps4 version.
