Where Version 1.0 Crashed And Burned, ARR Shines Triumphantly.

I was an early adopter of V1.0. Having spent 90$ on the Collector's Edition of that. Played for 2 weeks and couldn't stomach the game anymore. It was confusing and boring. Lifeless.

I started Alpha and Beta testing ARR and was surprised at the changes and overall feel. Quests were fun. Battles had life to them. The game is still confusing as all hell, even for someone like me who had been playing FFXI since its PS2 launch.

I could go on forever with this review and tell why this game has risen above what came before it. Hell the only reason why I am playing is because I got the game for free since I owned V1.0, but I am glad I have the game. It truly is special and stands out in a world of MMOs that follow the same formula.

Of course you will find your standard MMO staples in ARR, but it feels different somehow. Once all the kinks with the servers are worked out I think this game will have a bright future.
