This is the a final fantasy game that left it's long time followers in the dirt, trying to appeal to the current generation of game players, but competely discarding all of us who was there during the NES days. I will never buy another square game unless I rent it first. I remember the days of character development, world exploration and although the game play was linear, if you couldn't quite figure out how to defeat a boss, you would just grind till you were strong enough to beat it. Now you have to fight when the game says you will, how the game decides nothing is left for the player to explore, unless the game decides. Square has really fallen to Bethesda when it comes to the RPG.
