The worst FF game I have ever played. Very linear with boring cliched characters. The graphics and battle system good.

Final Fantasy games to me have always been about a very dramatic story and alot of exploration. This game has neither. The graphics are very good and if you stick with this game the battle system becomes quite addictive. The problem is the game is very very linear for an rpg. It opens up a little about three quarters of the way through. The game is divided into eleven chapters and there really is only one way to go most of the time. Chapter nine is more open with missions you can do in different orders. But most of those missions are to hard until after you have already beaten the game. Which why does someone want to come back and build your character up after you have already beaten the final boss.

The story is very average with very average characters. I very rarely felt any emotion during this game. The names of the characters are stupid. I mean Snow and Lighting. Boy did suare let an 8 yr old name their characters. Like I said the game is beautiful and the battle system fun. The game as a whole is well made. I feel square took to much time making the game fun to look at and actually fun to fight and forgot what truly makes an rpg great. The leveling up system is ok but doesn't give you enough customization over your characters. Also games like Oblivion, Fallout, Mass Effect, Dragons Age support their games with lots of downloadable content. Final Fantasy needs more than any of those games and has received none. Final Fantasy to me has been left behind and we need someone to step up and make us an epic rpg that fans deserve.

Overall I feel the game is decent but should have been epic. This is what I expect from my FF games. To me Lost Odyssey is much more like a FF game and is better than this game.
