The horribleness of a game is subjective, i.e., up to the interpretation of the player. There are plenty of people in this thread alone who would beg to differ on how this game is "horrible".
I have no problem with people who dislike this game. What I do have a problem with is people who refuse to acknowledge that there are others with different opinions than them. This seems to be the case with many XIII haters; if I had a nickel for every time I heard something along the lines of "everyone knows XIII sucks", I wouldn't have to farm Ingots anymore.
XIII does have its flaws, but it also has some good points to it, namely in the battle system. That's why this game still has me hooked.
Well the way I see it there's plenty like and plenty to dislike... whether the bad stuff is enough to ruin it for you is going to depend on your personality.
Yet... there are people that don't seem to believe that the game has any bad points. This kind of thing drives me crazy sometimes lol.
I don't think that many think it has no problems. It's not a perfect game and there are things could be improved on like level design and the pacing of the first few chapters in terms of introducing the crystarium.
I personally just don't like that this game is basically getting a bad rap for the problems it doesn't have, most notable is the claim the story is only told through the datalog, when infact the datalog is mostly a useful synopsis of what has occurred in the previous scenes.
Yet the debunked and groundless criticism still shows up and is treated as fact by some, as if those who dislike the game are willing to accept whatever is said about the game as long as it's negative, in other words not being critical of the other critics of the game.
