At the end of Chapter 11, after defeating Barthandelus and boarding the plane back to Cocoon, the game plays one of Square's signature high-quality FMVs. However, as soon as it's over, the "Now Loading" screen pops up... and the game freezes. I can't bring up the Guide or anything; in order to unfreeze the console, I have to manually turn it off and back on. I've tried installing the disc, but that doesn't work, either. Has anyone had this issue before? If so, what can I do to fix it? Thanks.

Probably specific to either your disc or Xbox. I would suggest looking at the bottom of the disc for any smudges. Even if you dont see anything, carefully wipe the disc clean with your shirt (assuming it too is clean) by putting your thumb in your shirt and wiping the disc from the center of it to the outside, never going along the circumference of the disc. If you dont know what I mean, google it. If that doesnt work, its most likely your Xbox's laser reading the disc poorly, in which case you need a new Xbox. Good luck!

haven't had any such problem, but i can offer a couple things to try..
i've seen people recommend for other games freezing to clear your systems cache.. you'll have to look up how to do that tho, i read it somewhere once and it's easy, but i forget how.
copy your save to a flash drive, bring the flash drive with the save and your disc to someone or someplace who has a 360 and try to get past that part on their system.
try swapping the disc with someone or someplace.. if you have friends at a shop that sells used games they might let your just swap it, or at least borrow it.
this ones a real long shot, but easy to try..
try lowering the setting on your 360 from 1080p to 720p.. or at any rate change it from whatever it is set at to something different..
star ocean freezes once in a great while if it's set to 1080p.. even tho it doesn't play at 1080p anyway.

i tried being serious once, in 1989.. didn't particularly care for it.. so don't expect it to happen again.
