I do not get JRPG's, this video doesn't help me get any closer to understanding what the hell is going on and why they all have real cheesy lovey pop tunes in them. Very strange genre

Oh God, I forgot how beautiful this game was!! This video has been refreshing. Commentary apart, sure..

I'm fighting the last boss of FFXIII and it is the hardest boss battle in FF history I'm not quite finish the game until now. I'm not gonna buy this one because of that.

Credit where due though, FFXIII may not have been worthy of the franchise (and to be honest, I don't really think one has since X...change the samey fashion designer for god's sake!) but Square Enix did accomplish their usual goal of pushing the next gen platforms one step further with their games by creating graphics that were pretty much like playing the best cut scenes in other games. It was stunning. Now if they can combine that with some of the older gameplay, they'd be back on the throne as RPG kings.

Yeah, English may be his third language but if that's preventing you from hearing him, you're no better at understanding English. This is actually pretty spot on, though. This is what FFXIII really is about. I'd just as soon recommend people play XII again (but you all probably hate that game, don't you, guys?).

Jesus, they couldn't get a better voice guy? Man, I played this game and I am MORE confused after watching this.

I actually was able to continue to play FFXIII while going to the restroom, making a sandwich, and sending text messages. There is something wrong with a game when I can be in a different room and don't even need to hit pause during a battle. Hopefully XIII-2 is a little more engaging than hitting X twice every 10 seconds or so.

I get this overwhelming feeling to strangle (al a Homer Simpson) Vanille whenever I hear her giggle. Also I can't understand what this guy is saying.

Its so sad that ANY FF could be summed up in only six minutes.Even the worst one.

Funny, i already read the review form gameinformer they gave it a lower rating than they did the first one. I guess that the only 2 characters you use is Sarah (lame), Hope (even Lamer) and your third characters are mosters that you cach (really Lame). All the other characters a limited to cameos or are used for short amounts of time.They said that the story is not that good or there words were convaluted, but the combat system was improved and a few other aeras were improved as well, they said the music sucked though. I feel bad for the FF Series and were its going. At this point id rather them make an old style time/turn based RPG with a great story just like the early FF series, or should i say when SquareEnix was just Sqaure Soft!

this game is like reading a book you dont have to read/play it fast like CoD games or magazines you have to do it slowly so you can understand everything but l guess not many people read books this days

Why all this hate about this game? Is an wonderful game.

@stailcookie It takes about 25-30 hours before it opens up and feels like an FF game. The whole thing is about 80 hours and definitely gets better as time goes on, but you're gonna have to deal with a lot of corridors for the first half.

I JUST got this for PS3. I'm only about an hour in and I'm already disappointed. Probably going to skip pt. 2.

Good time to watch a recap. I had forgotten about a lot of that. FFXIII had a really boring first 30 hours or so (and that's a pretty long time) but the rest of the game (more than half) wasn't half bad at all. I'll be playing XIII-2 and I'm happy to have this recap.

FFXIII was so bad that I couldn't even get into the demo for FFXIII-2. I'll justwait for Versus13, KH3, and FFXV.

I have never played FFXIII, but this explanation made no sense whatsoever. Is the game really that friggin' stupid?! My God! Japan, you might wanna hire some real writers the next time the biggest game to come out of your country in years is going to be made, huh?

The most annoying part of this game by far was all the drawn out scenes of the characters brooding on their feelings. If this game didn't have a convenient way to breeze through these cut scenes I would have stopped playing.

It is truly amazing how much this game pales in comparison to any of the proper FFs on PSX.

Japan needs to reinvent itself...starting with Final Fantasy which is soooo stale.

This was a really bad summary. To fully understand XIII-2 you'd have to play XIII.

Great recap as 90% of us could not stand listening to the whiney characters from the game so quit early. But honestly i couldn't fully understand what the narrator was saying due to bad english. Not offensive just honest. And i cant help but feel that if you were to summarise the story of FF5,6,7,8,9,10 that it would have took longer to explain. Seems FFXIII was just alot of filler.

It wasn't about "not having the time to finish", but not the will to spend even more time for such a boring game.

Hm, I have an IQ of triple figures, I write fantasy books for a living and I've been playing computer games since 1982 and I found the story hard to follow, so I really don't think condemning others for finding it difficult demonstrates wisdom on anyone's part. The narrative of the story makes it hard to follow as it is exceptionally stretched out at times, and other times seems to be crammed altogether. The concentration levels of the player tends to therefore be hindered before the story can actually make sense and unfold. Yes, VII also had an odd storyline, but the pace was perfectly formed which is why it is hailed as a classic still, even if you needed to work out how Sephiroth actually came to be a nutjob fully.

I can sum up this story easier than this: too much over the top Japanese anime, too much drama that didn't actually make any sense, long winded cutscenes, bad guys with a nonsensical plot to destroy the world to remake it, wrapped around a battle system that was basically setup the board and press action until finished. Watch pretty light show. What happened to this series?

I couldn't understand the story while I was playing the game. 4 1/2 minutes into this video I still can't understand it. It doesn't help that I can barely understand the narrator.

A little vague is putting it lightly.... This story still makes no sense whatsoever.
