Ok so FF 13 had a rough time ok it was awful what they to the series.... but I smell redemption!

always love ff games but i do miss battle ability like limit breaker in ff8 such squall lion heart and tidus moves in ff10....and mini games in the previous ff ...and what happen to shop in ff 13 it sucks...the guardian in 13 are great

I refuse to even consider buying this game until I see both Fang and Snow. They were the only reason I pushed through to the end of the first game.

I honestly don't get why so many people don't like XIII (XII included) it was a great game, but the main problem you ask? These people have zero patience, they play it for an hour and then criticize everything, at least play through the entire game before B****ing about every little thing, nothing is perfect, that goes for VII as well as every other FF. You don't like it, DON'T PLAY AND COMPLAIN. I don't like it for just the graphics (although they are the most beautiful i've ever seen), I like the game for what it is, after playing it, this was my favorite FF period.

Still stuck on chapter 10 in FFX3.. not stuck.. i rather play more action games..

Simply stunning, I loved XIII and can not wait for this next installment. A little sad they didn't show Versus, but this will surely suffice! That Noel is a hottie.

I've loved the Final Fantasy series since the days Super Nintendo. I'm going to get flamed for being sexist (which I am not), but why are the Final Fantasy games getting increasing feminine in appearance and content. I understand that Japanese culture loves beautiful imagery, but I wish Square could return to some more gritty, steam-punk settings like FF3 (US) and FF7. I also wish they would throw in a male character that doesn't look like a Calvin Klein model.

FFXIII goes to show everyone that... Good Graphics Ain't Everything.....Us players need a good battle system ( in which we could actually use every person in the same battle ), Items and weapons, and summons that we actually feel like we need to use to WIN, likeable characters (even the villians), and the greatest story ever told.....that actually means something in our own lives. My favorite games are 7,8, and 10................. 13 looked great but it just lost all of its soul....Why am i not feeling for these characters?

Looks like they're focusing on fixing the main problems of FFXIII, that is, automatic combat (press A/X to win!) and linearity out the wazoo. If they can do that, this will definitely be a sequel worthy of the Final Fantasy name. To the people who don't understand what's going on in the story...that's kind of the point of this trailer. Obviously there's been some major developments, and we'll learn about them throughout the game. Just because it doesn't make sense yet (you know, before we've even been given any real information on the story) doesn't mean that they're "ignoring the previous game." Just relax. More information will come in due time.

@ Hamzeh07 : right on dude! Final fantasy is sorta like...uuuh...there's just no word to describe it! I noticed something in the clip, the part where lighting was riding Odin, wasn't that big creature fang's idolon? I'm not sure but it sure looked like it! Guess it has got something to do with the new guy, not "Noel"...the other one, the tall dude, don't know his name. Hope you got who I meant! :P

ffxiii was a bad game compared to some of the older ff games like 7&8, i don't think this will be much better. all ff games since the ps2 are not really great. Guess FF games just need a world map, fixed camera, great pictures, charakters, a lot of exploration and a great story in an own universe. FF13s story was good, but could be much longer and more detailed. Charakters are also fine, the world was really nice designed, but a bit to small and nothing with nothing to explore, but thats what a FF game needs, the whole game could be great, with some cities to find, people to talk to, there were no secrets, no GFs to find, just nothing to find at all. Everywhere you are, you just walk straight forward, as there are no other quest around or whatever you may had in other FF games. Really sad some people like this game, as i don't know why. There is nothing in the game you may expect not even stuff you would expect while you play it.

I've never had any huge issue with any of the FF's I've ever played, even FFXIII. Each and every one is more or less distinct from it's predecessors' (excluding any character cross over) and so in any rights should be treated like a stand alone game within the series myhtos. Everyone has preferences, but people need to try and get rid of this 'back in my day' complex with the older games in the series and realise that things like this evolve. I never hear anyone complain about the uninteresting characters and weak story of FFXII (and I still enjoyed it). Or any other weaknesses in previous games. I guess I feel FFXIII just gets picked on and everyone has beef with it.

why is everyone assuming Serah is gonna fall in love with the new guy?....all we can see is that they are gonna team up. We shouldn't jump to conclusions like that...and anyways, it'll be clear once more information is released.

uhh...i don't get it. so lightning is dead (of course she's not, but whatever) and snow is gone, Sera is supposed to fall in love with some new guy instead of Snow... wut? granted i didn't hear a lot of it, but i'm still confused

I disliked FF XIII for narrow corridors, lack of exploration and quests, that's everything the main reason why FF XIII doesn't have an atmosphere. FF XIII-2 looks a bit better in those segment but I doubt it will be great :)

So anyone knows when S.E come out with a new Vagrant Story or Chrono Trigger? This sequal looks like FFXIII and I hated that game so I don't care for it.

guy with the bow look like a bootleg tidus lol so lame idc what they do this time around as long as they fix the fact you dont get freedom to walk around til like the last 2 chapters just make it so you can walk freely and have a story which shows any intrest in it and it will sell maybe then you will sell more than just 1 mil copies lol

WTF are you thinking S.E i wish it can go back to SquareSoft! i miss how we use to want to lvl learn spells search for magic, summons! how we wanted to make money so we can buy armor for the character and try out the other characters on the team..LONG STORY SHORT!!! S.E you are doing EXACTLY! opposite of what made the Final Fantasy franchise so popular! and what made you get FILTHY RICH!... well get ready to go down the DRAIN! cuz you are doing EXACTLY the opposite of what made you BIG!

detested FF13, this better be a heck of a lot better than its predecessor. No control over your team other than main member was lame... looks good but battle system still looks terrible :( wth SE?! why mess with the systems that worked. I LOVED FF12 battle system and free roam (semi linear) story.

If they sort the story issue out and the linearity, which I think they have (touchwood), this game will be complete to a T.

I was really disappointed by FFXIII. The combat system was amazing but the story was terrible, L.A. Noire had much more depth. I'm hopeful for FFXIII-2 :)

FF XIII was one of the best looking interactive CG cutscenes ever but severely lacking in plot. Not to say that the story wasn't intriguing, just that it wasn't fleshed out enough. I felt that as soon as the 15 hour tutorial was over, the game ended an hour later. Still, as electronic entertainment continues to evolve, the paradigm of what a "game" should be also shifts. I agree with some posters in this thread extolling FF VII as one of the best games in the series as it gave us characters that stayed with us since its release - I can't say the same of most of the other FF's. Despite that, as long as the combat system from FFXIII remains intact, I'll be picking this one up - just lots of fun.

transformers,summons in disguise,hehe ff13 story was plain,not intriguing,battle system was fun,not impressive,all there is to the game is that u move forward,watch a cutscene,fight/cutscene,forward no exploration no subquest no hidden stuffs,just fight and move,what happen to the good old ff,with a story and gameplay so grand it made me play 100+ hours,sigh and another ff13 x 2 comes out.

I really can't get myself excited about this game sad to say... FF13 just left such a bad taste for me that it's actually the first Final Fantasy game I didn't play throught to the end. Believe me I've been playing this series since FF2 on the SNES. Hopefully this one will actually turn out better than expected...

Intro: FFVII is my best game ever...but i enjoyed a lot FFXIII I liked the story a lot,it was very complicated and absolutely not linear. The game itself is linear!no doubt about that,but the open part after about 30hours of gameplay was a nice turnover,so I understand it's a lot of time and not anyone can have that patience...but i have no complaints Characters:Lightning is one of the coolest characters ever,only herself is worth the game...and I'm not a fanboy sayin' "whoa sexy bla bla bla" Fang is supercool too,both realization and characterization Sazh was a nice surprise,but not that epic Hope and snow forgettable characters...Vanille obviously a pain in the ass Lots of npcs were cool 2,the most disappointing thing for me was the "villain",absolutely terrible In the end i'm looking forward to this sequel,it doesn't seem something terrible like FFX-2 Anyway complainers...if you don't like this stuff go play something else and don't try to put us down =) peace and love

lol take the most annoying character from the last game and make her one of the main characters in the new game add generic jap art style and you have another mediocre FF game. Honestly I wish they'd take the mmorpg FF game and make it a singleplayer FF game, at least that game didnt have as much generic anime art style as this thing does.
