The only Final Fantasy I own happens to be a huge epic game that will last you long after other games lose their appeal.

User Rating: 10 | Final Fantasy XII PS2
I have to admit that when I played this game for the first 2 hours I was dissapointed. I can't explain it. But I kept on playing it and eventually put in around 110 hours into this game.

Graphics 10/10

No matter how much you hate or dislike this game you cannot say it has bad graphics. The cut-scenes are breathtaking. Slow-down is rare and keeps up really well especially when there is a slew of enemies around your party. Definetly raises the bar for PS2 games. Quickenings are a joy to watch but i have to admit they do get repetative

Gameplay 10/10

The gameplay is what threw me off at first. I was expecting a full action based system with no waiting. This isn't the case since you do have to wait but you are free to move at all times. This sounds pointless but really it can be used to your advantage. For Example if your running low on health you can cast Cure and run away from the enemy. This might give you just enough time to survive the next blow and kill him before he can hit you again. This is where FFXII customization comes into play. You can give your characters orders but you wont get too far unless you at least use simple Gambits. These Gambits let you focus on your attack strategy while allowing your other members to Heal, Attack, Defend, etc etc, all on their own. This works well becuase there are so many Gambits with tons of specifications. Along side leveling up you will be recieving License Points that wll let your characters go through the License Board unlocking different weapons, magic, skills, etc. Eventually your characters will unlock each square. The gameplay is white drives this game and for once i enjoyed spending time leveling up for that next boss(stopping to level up every once in a while is important since the difficulty of boss battles increases sharply if you don't train)

Music 9/10

The music is good and fits the game. I however don't really remember to much of the music except for the main theme. It could have been better but in no ways does it take away from the overall feeling/atmosphere of the game.

Content 10/10

This game seems endless. The game itself is long. The story suffers from slow spots but you'll be immersed into the gameplay/world so you won't usually notice this. Sidequests are plenty and challenge outside the main story will give you a huge amount of time spent exploring Ivalice.

Overall 10/10

This game isn't perfect (close though) but if you give it a chance you'll be happy you did.
