Being that this was the first MMORPG that I had really played, I wasn't sure what to expect. And, after playing for the last several months, I realized that it is a fairly good game...except the fees to play. First off let me say that this game met all my expectations in regards to the quality that has become the Final Fantasy universe. The graphics, gameplay, effects, etc are all great! I also enjoyed meeting alot of friendly players that readily answered questions or allowed me to join a party. That being said... ...why is it that we have to shell out $100 for this game and the no-other-use HDD? THEN, on top of that, we are forced to pay another $14.95 a month to continue on! Come on!!! It wouldn't be so bad if you could "pause" your account so that you can enjoy playing other games without having to waste your money while FFXI sits idle in your PS2. OK....a little rant...sorry. Anyways, FFXI is still lots of fun and I play from time to time. It appears that they have suckered me in for awhile, but...oh wait, I'm ranting again. OK, basically it's a fun game, but too bad it ends up costing us so much.
