If you're into JRPGs, or simply games with beautiful, original and strange worlds to get lost in, this game is for you.

User Rating: 9 | Final Fantasy X (Mega Hits!) PS2
Final Fantasy X is a role playing game released for the PlayStation 2 by Square Soft (Now known as Square Enix). This game is among one of the most popular and most historic series of role playing games to date, and definitely lives up to all the traditional Final Fantasy standards. If you have a PlayStation 2, and are looking for something fresh and immersive, this is the game for you.
Not only does this game feature beautiful visuals for its time, but has a life changing storyline that no video gamer should miss out on. The detailed areas and concepts throughout the land of Spira, which your adventure takes place in, is an original world unlike any other you've seen before. Complimented by an excellent cast of characters, you will grow attached to this game enough to be in tears before the end.
An unforgettable storyline experience isn't the only highlight in Final Fantasy X, but you've also got some fun turn based RPG action, both tactical and addictive. The battle system is the gameplay highlight of this game, but unfortunately the system which is used to upgrade your characters could have been tweaked to be more user-friendly for newcomers, as it is difficult to understand until you're well into the game. Another small shortcoming in this wonderful experience is the voice acting. Being the first game with the Final Fantasy title to contain voice acting, they performances are quite mixed, some lines that are delivered may sound rushed, or inappropriate for the scene. It also could have helped if the characters' lip sync in the cutscenes were also change to match the voices, which unfortunately means this game wasn't the best when it comes to localization.
Fortunately, those small, gameplay and cinematic related issues won't distract from this great game experience as a whole, and once you get to the end of this 50 hours and up experience, you'll just want to go back and play it some more.

The good:
-Storyline and universe is one of the most original and well thought out elements ever seen in a videogame.
-Battle system is tactical and addictive.
-Constant plot twists and believable characters keep you pulled into the game almost every moment.
-The visuals, for the most part, are impressive for its time, and occasionally breathtaking.
-The full motion video, pre-rendered CGI animation sequences are absolutely beautiful and technologically advanced for its time.
-Memorable set of original soundtrack.

The bad:
-Steep learning curve for RPG newcomers, and requires difficult grinding for those who aren't sure how to upgrade weapons or find hidden perks and upgrades throughout the game.
-Voice acting contains mixed performances.
-Some bad animations, visual quirks and oddities show up almost too often for the graphics/visuals to be considered flawless.

Final Fantasy X receives a 9.3/10 from me. Don't miss out on this great RPG experience. Give it a chance.
