Final Fantasy X's Presentation, Story and Playability make it one of the greatest Console RPG's ever made.

User Rating: 9.5 | Final Fantasy X (Mega Hits!) PS2
Like Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy X introduced a whole new generation of gamers into JRPG's. The visuals of the game was striking enough, and the technology involved really made the Playstation 2 shine as the most impressive videogame console. It was a game that was considered to be amazing. Final Fantasy X still remains, atleast to me, one of the best final fantasy's.

Story- Set in the fantasy world of Spira, the game's story centers around a group of adventurers and their quest to defeat a rampaging monster known as "Sin". The player character is Tidus, a blitzball star who finds himself in Spira after his home city of Zanarkand is destroyed by Sin. During the game, Tidus, along with several others, aids the summoner Yuna on her pilgrimage to destroy Sin. The storyline is epic and action packed and the vast personalisation of each character gives the game such a moving feel. This is definetely one of the best Final Fantasy stories concieved, and is very different.

Visuals- Final Fantasy X impressed gamers around the world with detailed fully 3D characters and environments, along with with state of the art CGI sequences. Gone were the pre-rendered environments that were part of the PS1 Final Fantasy's. Instead, FFX uses a series of maps to cross over along. This gives the game a more linier feel, however this does not stop lengthy exploration and sidequests from giving good replayability to the game. 10/10

Gameplay- Suprisingly, Final Fantasy X's battle system is at its most simple. It re-introduces the turn based battle system, intead of the active-time-battle system used since FFIV. This allows for more strategic play, thinking ahead like chess and making time to sheild yourself against powerful attacks. The upgrading system, known as the sphere grid, is a complicated series of holes for power spheres that give strength, defence, health points, mana etc. There are no levels in Final Fantasy X, just upgrading your characters stats through defeating enemies and collecting (glowing) spheres for your characters sphere grid. This form of upgrading gives the player a good idea on how their characters are progressing in their powers. The entities called Aeons summoned by Yuna deal heavy fire power in battles. 10/10

Sound/Score- FFX's sound is at its finest. The music is, in my oppinion, the best in any Final Fantasy game. The voice acting can be a little awkward but does a good job of conveying the emotions of each character.

Playability-There are numerous sidequests are in FFX, the mini game Blitzball is a sport that the player can play and have a break from the main game. You can recruit players and build the stats of your team. Searching for the characters 'Ultimate Weapons' is a fun challange. And aquiring secret Aeons on your sidequests can be a rewarding as you fight through the main game. There is alot to to do in FFX. 10/10

Overall, Final Fantasy X is a landmark RPG that uses a simple battle system, outstanding visuals for its time and an epic story. Its seemingly linier approach to Journey is short lived when the world map becomes open to you on cids airship, allowing for exploration and sidequests throughout the world of Spira. The game will give you so much to do but not as much as FFVII and FFXII. An instant classic, and will remain an JRPG favourite for so many people over so many years. 10/10
