I was looking forward to my first Final Fantasy (yes, I never got into it sooner!) And I'm NOT disappointed!

User Rating: 9.5 | Final Fantasy X-2 PS2
The Good: Where do you start? Pretty much everything.

The Bad: 100-cloisters in Bevelle uncompleteable, A proper ending.

Full Review: Like I said, I was sceptical about my first Final fantasy, but looking forward to it anyway, and I wasn't disappointed. From the beginning the control system is nowhere near as hard as some "better" or "more complex" RPGs. Sadly, the battles are segregated from the main exploration, but that's not all bad. For one, it's easy to escape from an overpowered enemy you may encounter at the start of the game. The story really develops, with the back history being properly explored for those who didn't play the original game. The civil war in Spira provides some interesting choices for a player, mainly "are you ready to reveal all and fight (Hand sphere to Youth League) or would you rather sit in a corner and hope what you saw goes away (Hand sphere to Yevon)?". Frankly, I've always chosen the former, I'm too moral to say no to such a question! There is also cleverly plotted and amusing extras seeded through for those who look (Like Logos' sphere. i won't ruin the surprise though...). The second gunner's gauntlet also provides challenging and addictive entertainment away from the main story, which really goes from strength to strength as you advance, while leaving some questions unanswered (Why do Yevon fight you if there's a truce on Kilika?). Many of these questions will be answered on the 100-cloisters in Bevelle, which are, sadly, FAR too hard. Also, while the New Game Plus is an effective way of getting rid of an overall ending, you do have to start from square 1 almost. on the other hand, this means that eventually, you probably will get 100%. Overall, DEFINITELY worth buying.
