Command Counter does not work for me.

I have read all the strats explaining how to beat Emerald Weapon:
Command Counter linked to Mime
Knights of the Round linked to HP Absorb.
However, anytime I have tried this combination, whenever my character is attacked, he simply counters with a regular attack, not Knights of the Round. I have command counter mastered, so I don't understand why it doesn't work...

Mime is going to mime the last action taken by a party member, so the turns should run like this:
-KoTR
-Emerald attacks character with Mime
-Character should Mime KoTR

I just figured out my problem. I noticed I was always counter-attacking twice... this was because I had regular Counter Attack equipped too, which was apparently triggering first, then command counter was miming that. I'm watching Emerald Weapon die as I type this.

Remove counter purple in fact the purple counter materia is the reason I never master monk in FF5 (since mastering it) ruins Bahamut + constant mime use in FF5 as well.
But I still prefer KoTRing everythink from Carry Armor onwards this includes All the WEAPON bosses.

As for 4x cut being faster I still think 8 to 10 KOTRs are faster to drain all of Emerald/Ruby Weapons HP since it would take over twenty 4x Cuts to kill Emerald/Ruby assuming all 4 hits do 9999 each.

The animation is like 20 times shorter than using KoTR. Therefore using 4x cut is much faster.

Time and practicality are not considerations for Vegh.
Why use a key to open a door when you could drop a tactical nuclear strike on the door and remove it from existence?

Sure 4x cuts animation is shorter but its still weaker then KoTR which is still the ONLY reason I KoTR both Emerald/Ruby Weapon.
That and instead of having to use Mega Elixers EVERY time Emerald attacks I could just KoTR + Mime it to regain ALL 7000+ damage Emerald causes every time it attacks.

Well at around 40,000 damage for 4x Cut per turn it would still take a lot of them to drain 1 million HP it only takes 8 to 10 KoTRs to beat Ruby/Emerald Weapon (4x Cut at 9999 per hit would still need more then 10 uses.)
