Im replaying this game soon. PSN version. This will be my 1st perfect game file for this game.

Are there any missable secrets/ side quests similar to FF8 or FF9.

Like in FF9, some secrets was the Ruby barging into the Kidnap meeting when you Select "Queen Brahne 64 times.

Another is to meet Alleyway Jack, or finding Hippauls cards. Or finding Toms cat. FF9 has TONS of side quests/ side events that are missable, even when theyre not that important. FF8 had the Zell Love Quest and a few others i think.

So anyways, does FF7 have any secrets like this? The only one I know is the 5 gil one, where if you dont take the gil, you get a greater reward later.

Anything like this in the game before I start? side question. Is the missable guide FAQ Perfect?

If I remember correctly, you can't do the Yuffie side quest in Wutai on Disc 3. That's all I can think of at the moment.

Yeah, you can. It's how I got Trine on my fourth Enemy Skill Materia.

She has two. Theft quest can't be done on the third disc, the pagoda sidequest can.

No, that's not it, but there aren't as many missable secrets like that as FF8/9, and those that do exist aren't as interesting.

I know that its possible to miss returning to the Shinra tower, as I ended up avoiding it entirely during a certain event.

Lots of missable things. Very important things. Off the top of my head...

    * Morph materia, Temple of the Ancients
    * Leviathan Scales, Junon Underwater Reactor
    * Touph Ring/Ziedrich/Minerva Band, stolen from Reno/Rude/Elena in very limited quantities
    * Ifrit and Ramuh materias, after defeating Jenova BIRTH and in the chocobo jockey lounge, respectively

Tons of other things I'm sure but these are the big things I could think of right off.

Isn't there a missable items FAQ with all this info in it?

Also, just follow Absolute Steve's guide. He'll never lead you astray.

I`m using mira`s "Miss-able Items" FAQ, and it`s fine until now. Absolute Steve is 100%, but is too complex to find only missables itens. Don`t like VIII and IX so much to find missables itens..
    RAH!

isn't trine like a once or twice kind of thing enemy skill (materia keeper, pagoda, - did someone at cliffs teach it? - were they encountered or was it the boss?)

other than wutai , huge materia, and fort condor battles (those are tricky to fight all that you can w/o a guide) - that is it I think.
