Final Fantasy V is a pleasant suprise to anyone who doubts the title is good because it was left in Japan for a while.

First off, this is a review of the PS1, Final Fantasy Anthology version of just FFV and I am basing the graphics and sound scores as if the two games were on the SNES. The first great thing you notice about FFV is the characters. The great thing about these characters and their story arch is that its very light-hearted at times, even laugh out loud funny (once you get used to the characters) while at other times it manages to be extremely dramatic and flawlessly epic plot line that always leaves you guessing and excited. Follow that up with a Great, combat system, quite possibly the best, that has only one real flaw, the fact it takes around 8-10 HOURS to unlock all the Classes which is quite annoying it the class you want just won't come...namely the Samurai, darn your awesomeness. And really theres only one other flaw with the combat, the fact that when fighting you can't switch characters for more strategic attacks, which can really be quite the flaw once you can't revive and heal a character in the same turn due to the character sequence. But, other than that any fan of FF Tactics or FF1 or really any Final Fantasy will love FFV and even the average gamer may fall in love with the fantastic characters and story.
