Max Stats?

Basically, HP and MP are level based, the other stats are job based and will change when you change jobs.
The max stats for each character would be determined by their level and job, the ALGORITHMS AND STATS FAQ would have the most detailed information (but I wouldn't call it the dumb version either).
A monk will have the highest str and vit, but you might not want to master that because of the counter-attack which will be inherited by the bare class. Thiefs have the highest agi and summoners have the highest mag. Anyway, the faq I mentioned has the details.
